Default Jim Bragg....

Jim, we followed your advise last year and ended up on the Valor western. Just loved it due to port variety. We took a cab ride in Roatan. Altum Ha in Belize, Sting rays in G. Cayman, beach and shopping in Coz. Least favorite was G. Cayman because, other than the excursion...shopping was expensive, food was expensive, and there was not the local flair. Now, we are looking for a second cruise. We are traveling w/ 11 yr. old. Some tell us to try the easter as it is nice but we are worried it will be expensive off the ship and not have that feeling that we are "somewhere else" I enjoy the local people and their crafts. Whear do you think we should go next? Looking at March or april as son would like more kids on board than we had in late Jan. Also looking at 5 day vs 7 day but would miss the balcony as that was a part of the cruise experience. Thanks.

Well, with the 5 day cruise the Sensation out of New Orleans goes to Cozumel and Costa Maya and there are great tours out of both places as well as things to do on your own. Other Cruises that have a differant flair to them that you might consider is of course the Southern Caribbean onboardx the Destiny out of San Juan, the 8 day on the Legend out of Fort Lauderdale St Martin, Barbados and Martinique. or the Liberty or Legend that goes to Costa Rico and Panama as well as either Cozumel or Belize. There rteally is a wide choice out there. The newer ships have the balconies and more to do for the kids but the Fantasy Class ships are not bad. The older Celebration and Holiday are not that great for kids as they do not have the activities the larger and newer ships afford. Easter is often more expensive rates for cruising as you have school being out but in the ports rates do not go up.

24 cruises and counting!
