I have a question about the rooms on the back of the ship with balconies,Would you or would you not recomend this type room.
Us and another couple are taking a cruise and we have not bookked yet but this is one of the choices we have.
I've got 2 words for you, " Book It " ! Those are really nice rooms and the balcony is great. There's nothing like sitting on your balcony watching sunrises and / or sunsets.
Your very close to the pool deck (aft) just take the stairs. 1 or 2 flights up or down and your there.(depending on what deck your on )
Especially if you're talking about one of the rooms on the hind end of the ship. Particularly on the Spirit or Conquest-class, those balconies are friggin' enormous. And you get sunrise, sunset, and beautiful vistas as you pull out of ports.
We are talking about the Triumph and we have the 2 rooms both with the balconies on the Empress deck. Our room will be 7334 and they will get the back room # 7433.
So this is good hua?My friend will be excited to hear that!
If you have a choice take the aft balcony. If you have a little extra money take the corner aft it has a huge balcony. If all aft are taken there are 2 rooms that are odd shaped they have a double balcony look at room 6442 on Conquest it is 2 from the aft on the port side. I would take this room any time a aft not avaible.

Aft corner staterooms are Super! Unlike some other ship designs that allow balconies above to stare down onto yours - Carnival uses a staggered wedding cake design that provides balcony privacy above and below.
Well worth the couple of bucks more than a conventional balcony stateroom along the side.
Sailed Triumph 8448 and scheduled on Miracle 4228 in March 2006 - best investment out there!
My parents had an aft wrap around balcony cabin on our cruise last August and have another booked on our cruise in Sept. I agee with David - Book It. I spent more time in their cabin a (OK, on their balcony) than in my inside cabin just because their balcony was great and the layout of the cabin was wonderful.

Thank you for sharing info with Kelly and I. This will be my second cruise and I am thrilled! Sounds like AFT is the place to be......yippee! Kel....my good buddy we are going to have a blast. Happy Sailing to all
After reading all of the reviews on here, I (we) changed our cabin reservation. We did have a regular balcony room on the Upper Deck. Now we have a 9-A on the Empress deck....cabin 7445. This is an aft corner room with a large balcony. The price difference with my Veterans discount was only an additional 67 dollars per person. We are looking so forward to this! I hope this cabin is as good as everyone says it is. ;-}
jeffandbridget ,
You will love the Aft Cabins, to me they are the best.
I have a question for you if you don't mind, I'm active duty and was wondering how much you paid for your balcony per person with the discount?
Thanks and have fun.

John,
Thanks for the feedback, we are really looking forward to our cabin. With my military discount, we ended up paying almost 800/person. This figure includes taxes and fees. I thought the price was very good for the cabin that we got. I think the military discount works out to be something like 20-25% and since I am out of the service, all I had to do was email a copy of my DD214 and a copy of my Drivers License to my TA.
OK...I am new. We had a balcony on the Valor last Jan. I did not know about apt balconies. Looking at Valor or Triumph in april. Do these ships have aft balconies?
Thanks, Karyn
