I am semi-confused about the dining. There is assigned seating I understand. I am going with my fiance, and we prefer to sit alone (we want this to be a more romantic trip) but will we be placed with other people?
There is also assigned dining times at lunch and breakfast I understand, but on port days, you can just go whenever you want and sit anywhere?
ANyways there is a buffet style restaurant as well, right? Is that open late? All day?
Maybe...you can ask for a private table or a double booth and sit by yourselves. I would asked the person who seats you when you first walk in to the dinning rooms. Also, for Breakfast and lunch we sat alone all the time. We were on the Destiny ship in 2000. Just ask before the Hostess seats you.
Actually, you should go straight to the dining room when you board the first day, and request the size table you want, if you wait until dinner time, you might be out of luck, and will end up sitting with other folks.
Jessalyn,
Your dinner dining table will be an assigned table. When you booked your cruise you should have stated your table preference - table for 2 to you TA. When you check in, your Sail & Sign card will have your table # on it. Go to the dining room and check out your table. If it's not what you want, check with the Maitre' D and see if he can change it. He will be there helping everyone. Breakfast and lunch are open seating and you can request a table for 2 there, same with the buffet room, you find your own seat. Usually they assign tables with similar people so if you did get a large table assignment it might be with other young couples and you might want to see how you like it. You and your fiance will be together 24/7 and visiting and making friends is nice on a vacation too. We have met many other couples and in November one of them is joining us on a cruise.
