What time does the ship get done with customs? Want to decide on excursions and what to do?
Six of us are going in November and wondering if we get off at 10:00 when the ship docks, or if they start customs after you dock, and we end up getting off at noon or something.
Thanks in advance.
We went through the customs thing on the Valor in April . Our ship was very crowded but customs was very effecient and we waited only about 15 minutes.Customs cannot begin until port is made. The CD asked that only those with early excursions booked come down early for customs, other please wait. The line was verrry long, but moves quickly. We made port at 0900 and waited until after 1000 to join the line, it was backed up to the jewelry shoppe(the customs agents were in the Eagles Lounge) The line moved in about 15 minutes.
Just returned today from the Glory and getting off of the ship in St. Thomas was a piece of cake. The day before you dock in VI the CD will give you all of the information about the immigration requirements for St. Thomas. The process involves showing your passport or birth certificate with a picture ID. You will recieve a name tag from the ship in order to depart, the process was painless and didn't consume any additional time. BTW, you will just love the ship experience of the Glory.

We also docked at 10 (March 2005) and took almost 90 minutes to get off the ship. We had an excursion that departed around noon that we made, but there is some delay between arrival and leaving the ship.
the ship must be docked and the ship itself must clear customs before any passengers are allowed to go thru immigration. IF everyone follows the rules and goes to their appointed stations at the correct time it will go very quicklly.
i too was on the glory for the 8-6-05 sailing and the customs line in st thomas though as stated before was very long really moved really quickly. it was painless and didint take up too much time from the port.
