Orlando-LaQuinta or Sheraton Suites

We are flying in a day early for the Glory cruise out of Port Canaveral......staying near the airport and then taking shuttle the next morning. Has anyone stayed at either the LaQuinta North or Sheraton Suites near the airport ? Which is preferred?

LaQuinta North - NO NO NO - We hated it! It was run down.

We stayed at the Country Inn near the airport 1.5 years ago and it was very nice and had a shuttle to the airport.

We sailed on the Glory from August 6 - 13, 2005 and like you we decided to fly to Orlando a day early. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Orlando Airport hotel, here is the link to their web-site http://www.orlandofairfieldinn.com/. The hotel is less than a mile from the airport, it's very clean, safe and they have a lot to offer for the $69.00 we paid for our one day stay. We had also rented a car from Budget and drove to Port Canaveral, route 528 (Bee-Line Highway) was about 1/2 mile from the hotel. On our cruise date we drove straight to Port Canaveral along route 528 and dropped the car off at the local budget office which is less than 5 minutes from the ship and was shuttled to the ship. We had considered using the Carnival Shuttle to the ship, but that would have cost $50.00 per person each way. I don't know what the other shuttle company's were charging, but for a little over $100.00 we had our own transportation and freedom to leave at our own time.

If its the one on Augusta National, then it sounds great. Did you check it out on TripAdvisor.com? It got eight 5* reviews. Looks like you found your hotel!

It is sooooo nice to have people to come to so we can get good advise.
