A lanyard is simply a piece of material that is attached to some type of object, like a name badge holder The best type to have is a type that had a spot that will break away if the lanyard becomes cought, so you dont get choked
Have a great trip
Also...The casinos on the ship have them (the Glory did anyway). The were colorful plastic slinky type ones with "Ocean Players Club" on them. They were complimentary, we just asked for them at the cashiers window. The giftshop sold Camp Carnival ones. You can have a hole punched in your sail and sign card and attach the card to your lanyard. You can do the same with a soda card. They were very convenient.
It is a type of ribbon/cord with a clasp at the bottom. We used them for both our cruises and would have been lost without them!! If you dont want to wear them around your neck then just loop them through your pants pocket or button hole that way if you put it in your pocket you wont accidentally loose it. We bring some with Canada written on it and allot of the crew will trade you for them. We bring a hole punch with us and it works great with the old style room keys ( such as on the fascination)
