Default FLL Disembarking?

I am trying to book airfare from FLL in April. I know the cruise line says to not book a flight before noon. My question is what time will the last person get off of a Carnival cruise at Port Everglades (under normal circumstances)?

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions.

NCSTATE,

Our return flight home was at 12:40 p.m. The day prior to the end of our cruise on the Glory, the Cruise Director informed all passengers who had flights before 2 p.m. to identify themselves at the Pursers desk for early debarkation and to get special debarkation tags for our luggage. If I remember correctly, we were allowed to meet at a certain location on the ship with our luggage, that's right, the draw back is that you have to carry your luggage with you. We were the first group through customs and we were off of the ship by 8:30 a.m. Which afforded us plenty of time to drive to Orlando to catch our flight. Hope that this info helps in your decision.

Two years ago we had a flight out of FLL after a cruise set for I think 6pm or so. Well, we GOT to the airport at 2pm thinking we'd eat and be bored for 4 hours but when we went to check in, the check-in person mentioned she could put us out on the next available flight if we wanted. It was leaving in 1/2 hour so we had to hoof it a little, but we were motivated by the fact that we'd be HOME by 6p instead of 10pm

We made sure to ask if there would be a fee and she said 'no' so we took her up on that wonderful offer. If in that situation again, we may surely just ask as long as they don't intend to charge us

In sum, it doesn't seem to hurt to book that flight going home as late as you can stand it and then just ask when you get to the counter if they can bump you for free.

Plus, with a later flight, we got to dilly-dally and take our time getting off the ship, to the airport etc.

It can be done in Ft.Lauderdale IF all goes accordingly to plan. That's a big IF. We had an 11:40 flight out on our last cruise, and we were running

First of all, thanks to everyone for replying! I know each port and airport can be different. On previous cruises I was off the ship by 10:00 and could of made it to an airport 5 miles away by 10:30 easy. However, those were normal circumstances and being called before the last group.

Waters,
Your advise is great. What we are going to do is buy a flight at 2:00 and if we get to the airport early try to get on the 11:30. Just wondering which airline allowed you to do that?

Thanks again and we are greatly looking forward to the brand new LIBERTY!!

Keep in mind that if you do arrive more than 4 hours in advance of your scheduled flight most airlines will not allow you to check in or go through security.

Which ship are you going on? You need to contact the cruise company and tell them you have a flight to catch. So you can be one of the first to disembark. Usually you are allowed off the ship before 12:00 p.m. providing the ship arrives in port on time, and everything moves smoothly.

Carnival Liberty ... We are going to book 2:00 flights and if we get there early and get on an earlier flight good if not oh well. At least that is the attitude I am going to use.
