What if your car was still in NOLA?

I know that many have been scrambling to make alternate travel plans with Carnival releasing three ships to FEMA. But imagine being one of those unfortunate people who lost their homes and all of their possessions? And imagine being one of those passengers on Conquest who had parked at the pier in NO! My heart goes out to so many folks who have lost everything. We are all fortunate that we are able to call our TAs and have some options even though those options might be expensive. Many people have no options.

`According to the news, the cars are fine so they just have to wait until people can get back into the city to get their cars out....they have said several times cars parked at the pier didn't appear to suffer any damage BUT who knows when they can get the cars back!

Our car is in the parking garage, and hopefully there isn't any damage. It is a little inconvenient only having one car in the meantime, but I walk or bike most days even when we have both cars, so our situation is better than some folks. I guess the main thing I am dreading is taking a weekend to get down there and drive back up.

I thought about the cars at the pier too...even if they aren't under water it's not likely you'll be able to get it home anytime soon.

I wonder how much you will be charged for parking in the ramp?

Do you think the daily rate still applies? = )

good question about the parking..I'll see what I can find out for you ...common sense would dictate they would not charge anything
