Default ST.THOMAS/ST. JOHN

Will be seeing these places for the first time in Jan. 06 and I would like some tips on what to do or see . Is shopping good or should we just do the beach ? Thanks for any information.

St. John has beautiful beaches and really good snorkeling.
The shopping would be on St. Thomas. There are also some very nice beaches on St. Thomas.
You have to take a water taxi to get to St. John Island. We usually go to St. John in the morning, hit the beach for a few hours, come back to the ship, drop off our beach stuff, grab a bite to eat and then head out to shop. You can shop at the pier at Havensight Mall or you can grab a cab into downtown.

I would suggest the skyride to Paradise Point. You can watch a tropical bird show, get a great view of the island, and enjoy a bushwacker. We loved it!
The Atlantis Submarine was also a lot of fun.
Have a great cruise!

Are the locals there as pushy as the locals in Mexico ? I don't see how they could be, but you never know

Happy cruising;

I agree, the cab/taxi drivers are all competing to provide you a ride for your money. And the gals that braid hair approached us the minute Godfrey's van stopped. The jewelry shopping prices are wide and varied. The store keepers will negotiate price with you, if you are purchasing more than one piece of jewelry.

I enjoyed the tour of the island the most. The island is beautiful.

I too would like to learn more about St. John. I am going there next to snorkel.

I just got back from the Glory, and we went to St. Thomas. I would recommend the mini boats and hidden beaches tour. You go out in your own 2 man small power boat, with very experienced guides. They take you along the coastline to a small cove where you can snorkel or swin for about 45 minutes. They provide the snorkel equipment. If you don't want to swim to the beach they will get you close enough to jump out in knee deep water. We really loved this tour. The guides were excellent. Very concerned with your safety, and we had a great time!

We loved the Snuba diving. We used visnuba. com and booked ahead of time. It included a tour of Coral World. The Snuba was awesome and the guide was exceptional. We returning in Feb. and plan on doing the same Snuba, just a different area....probobly St John.
