Default Conquest - Spa deck or Guarantee balcony??

My wife and I are booked on the Conquest sailing for 11/06. This is our first cruise. I already have Spa deck cabin 1106 booked with the floor to ceiling windows but am having second thoughts. The guarantee balconies have dropped in price and I wonder if one would be a better room. I assume we would get one on the Upper Deck (or better) looking at what is available? I know that our cabin is larger at 230 sq ft but leaving the door open and listening to the waves does sound nice... Anybody have thoughts on the subject? Thanks, -Barry

If you're wanting to make a decision soon, I may not be much help. But, I have cabin 1106 on Oct 2nd. I can let up know upon my return (Hurricane Rita willing!) how the room is.

Hmm..those Spa rooms are very quiet(we were in 1104), BUT if I had a choice(with no/little price increase) I would go for the guarantee balcony room. If there is just 2 of you in the room, a balcony room will be big enough. I know you would run the chance of a lousy/noisy spot on ship. Are you light sleepers(can always take earplugs!)??
That is my opinion. Let us know what you decide. Have a good cruise!

Default balcony

Hello! I have not had a cabin on the spa deck but the balcony rooms are nice. I think it is all a matter of personal preference. For My choice would be the balcony cabin! The balcony makes the room seem more open and I enjoy being able to sit on the balcony with a cocktail;-) Either way I am sure you will have a great cabin. Best wishes!

Just remember, if you go with a guarantee you might be placed anywhere on the ship (check the floor plans and see if there are any balconies, for example, on top of or below the disco). I think the location is more important than the room.

On our last cruise, we actually stayed in inside rooms on the Riviera deck! We wanted 2 rooms and I needed to save $$ so I picked specific rooms, even turning down an "upgrade" because it would have put us above the casino. You know, that 4A room was just fine; quiet and convenient.

Good luck, whatever you choose. Happy cruising!

Keep the suggestions coming. They are a BIG help. I have some of the same concerns. I've checked the floor plans and none of the balconies are obstructed so that's not a factor. But since the tickets are priced $100 per person below a guaranteed cabin on the Upper Deck then that is where I figured they would but us, on the Upper Deck. We can handle noise fairly well but the Upper deck is above the Promenade Deck which is where the bars, theatre, casino and HENRI'S DISCO are located. Now I plan on grooving my feet to the beat, especially if they are true to their name and play the music I grew up on (I'm 41 and a product of the 70's/80's). But I'm not sure I would enjoy hearing it through my pillow or the sounds of slot machines.

Has anyone ever went Guarantee and got on the Empress or Verandah Decks?

I just returned from the Conquest Sunday. My friends were in room 1112 spa deck. The floor to ceiling window covers the area of a balcony, The celing is slanted There curtian broke on the first day the shade part and they could not close the curtain. The room was a little bigger but no a lot. The floor is quite.
I was on deck 10 the panorama deck had balcony room I booked the Baclony gurantee. I loved the room is was very covenient and quite.
So I guess I would go with a gurantee.

i was on the conquest from august 14th to 21st and i had cabin # 6221 on the upper deck. it is a balcony cabin. on the conquest, the upper deck is the first deck that has balconies from the bottom, and it is under the promenade deck (deck 5) which is where the nightclubs and some shows are, but i had no problem with hearing noises from below the room. i would recommend a balcony room, it was my first time having one and i loved being able to listen to the ocean and step outside with out going outside of my cabin! good luck and have fun!

Thanks EVERYONE for your help. I just got off of the phone with Carnival and secured a Guarantee Balcony (only $60 extra). It's just probably got to better at sunset/sunrise out on the balcony.

Happy sailing everyone!!!

You won't be sorry with a balcony. And yes, we were upgraded to the Empress deck once.

I've sailed in an inside, but once you have a balcony.....

Wow... After I changed my cabin to Guarantee Balcony and checked my booking yesterday it showed I had a BL which would be correct. Today it shows we have an 8E cabin which would be on the Panorama Deck moving us up to a balcony that would have cost us an extra $240 per person had we booked it direct.

I'll let y'all know what cabin we actually wind up with (should we still sail without cancellation). Rita is a Cat 5 and heading directly at Galveston.

Default Panorma 1067

We just got off the Conquest 9/11 cruise. The balcony on the panorama deck is great. Room 1067 is so convient and quiet. Good luck and if you end up with this room, you will love it.
