Default Cruising Under 21?

My girlfriend and I are thining of taking a cruise sometime during winter break to the bahamas. Neither of us have been on one before. I'm 20 & she's 18. First off, will we have any trouble even getting a cabin since we're not going to be with anyone 21+? Secondly, what are the drinking/gambling ages on the Carnival ships? Or are there other cruise lines that might be better for us? Thanks.

I don't think you will be able to travel alone together without someone else who is of age. See the Carnival FAQ section on www.carnival.com for the exact ages.

This problem plagued me for so long too. There are responsible people between the ages of 18 and 21 Carnival...and other cruise lines...

No, you won't be able to go on a Carnival cruise. As Rob M suggested, check out the FAQ's on the Carnival website. You would have to be married or both of you over 21 to cruise.

I beleive Princess is the only line that allows 18 year olds to book cruises.

Wow Princess lets you book under 18? If that is true it is interesting because Princess is a part of the Carnival Cruise Lines group.

Actually you CAN'T book Princess. From their catalog:

"Any passenger under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21."

I think what people are thinking of is that on Carnival you must have someone over 25 in your stateroom if you are under 21.

I don't think there is a cruiseline where you can travel at this point. Maybe you can find an older friend or relative?

About your other questions, on Carnival drinking age is 21 and to use the casino you must be 18.

You CAN cruise the Disney Cruise Line and Princess. Don't know about their drinking or gambling policy though. Check out this link to find out the age requirements of all the cruise lines.

He should be able to cruise Princess, I think. He is 20 and his girlfriend is 18, so there is not a "passenger under the age of 18" in his party.

Also you don't have to be "married" on Carnival. You can also be domestic partners, which would mean that your driverís licenses would have to show the same home address. To quote Carnival....

"Domestic Partners/Same-Sex Union minor couple - The booking must be documented that the couple are legal Domestic Partners/Same-Sex Union. The couple must have legal proof of partnership/union at embarkation or they will be denied boarding without the benefit of a refund. "

Sorry - you're right...I somehow read "under 18" in your post instead of 18. Do you have a Travel agent who might be able to help you?

Sorry, you will not be allowed to book a cruise. The only way around that is to be married or have someone over the age of 24 cruise with you in the same cabin.

You can book on Princess since you are both over 18. The drinking age is 21 on Princess, but I think you can use the casino at 18.

Default Under 21

Yep, it is true. I have a friend who (last year) was 20 years old. Her friends were all 21 years old. They wanted her to go with them. I called Carnival for her. They told me that she needed either a parent or grandparent booked in her cabin.
