HEY DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT TYPICALLY TAKES FOR CARNIVAL TO UPGRADE YOUR STATEROOM? I AM SAILING IN 62 DAYS AND HASN'T HAPPENED YET. ANY INFO HELPS THANKS!
We sail in a couple of months too. We just found out we have been upgraded from a guarantee Cat 4A to a Cat 5A room. Carnival didn't notify us, we went online to the Carnival website and after logging in we used the 'purchase gift' method.
What ship are you going on? We'll be on the 3 Dec sailing of the Elation.
Good luck,

1. Log in to the Carnival website by clicking 'My Reservation' located on the top of the page
2. On the My Reservation page, click on the 'Complete Your Online Boarding Pass' located above the ship schedule (This will take you to the FunPass check in area)
3. Click on the 'Order Gifts and Services' located below the check in status
4. Select 'Details' of any gift. At the bottom of the page will be your booking number and stateroom number.
If you went with a guarantee room it will say GAUR until you have been assigned a room. Once a room has been assigned to the booking number, it will change to show your specific room.
Hope this helps,

Thank you for the explanation on how to find your cabin. I am so excited. I booked an 8A guarantee and got a balcony on the Lido Deck! I am 10 cabins away from the pool. Awesome. We are 54 days out.

Any luck yet Vermonters? We got our cabin assignment right around the 60 day mark.
How many days out are you Madazolam? Good luck to both! Let us know.

Ron and Sue,
We are 91 day out now and counting. (My clock keeps me informed )
We booked a balcony, so we really don't need an upgrade, but it still would be nice.

r&s, thanks for the info!!! It worked for me. We booked an 8A gty and got an 8C BUT the cabin is all the way forward! I hope we can change this, even going back to an 8A would be fine with me.

On this page, under the guest name block, you should see 4 selections.
They are:
Book Your Shore Excursions now -- Order Gifts & Services
Carnival Sea Miles Mastercard -- Join Presidential Wine club
Select the Order Gifts & Services and then follow the rest of the directions. Let me know how it works out!
And congrats to Vermonters! That is a nice upgrade straight to the top of the ship!

Ron & Sue,
Thanks for the info... with your method I just discovered we are no longer guarantee status, we now have a cabin assignment. (I've tried to find this out various other ways and none of them worked.) Also discovered we've been upgraded 3 categories so that's even better!
Hi! We are sailing on the Inspiration on Nov.21st..we've received our Booking # and Room # from our TA. We booked a gurantee and are now up to the Upper Deck..yeah...Just one question..can they still upgrade even after you get you docs? Was hoping for a room with a view!!! Just wasn't sure if they would still upgrade after assigning our room #s.
Thanks for the advice!!
Amee
Upgrade to another category (from inside to oceanview) is rare, but does happen from time to time. We booked an oceanview and were upgraded to a balcony last year on Carnival.
Upgrades aren't always the best thing, though. If you know you don't want to be forward, then booking a gty isn't such a good idea. Gty reservations are for people who honestly don't care WHERE they are on the ship.

With 87 days to go we paid our final payment. The next day we found out that we had our room assigned.
We had guaranteed an 8a balcony and were assigned an 8e balcony on the on the Panorama deck room 1019 on the Valor January 8 for the Western Caribbean Cruise.
Not bad for our first cruise. I had heard that it is rare for a first timer to get an upgrade, especially all the way from an "A" to an "E".

I called about our upgrade. We did an 8A gty and got an 8C which is nice and like Dorothy said, if don't care where they put you this would be fine, But...we booked this thru the Carnival Vacation Club program, our first time for a big cruise. We could have booked a specific cabin but just like booking with a TA, if we booked a gty, it was less points and we are "guaranteed" the best upgrade. I asked what that meant and was told we would get "only cabins in the middle of the ship". Well, obviously it didn't work that way for us because we got the 2nd cabin from the front so when I called to change they only had 1 cabin, an 8B, about 15 from the aft. To us, even though this would be a down grade (not to us) it would be better. I told them how disappointed I was not getting what the program promises. Anyway, after much thought we just decided to use more points (trying to use them up) and upgraded to our first Suite!! I know after our first balcony we said we could never go back so I hope that doesn't happen this time. I am just very thankful we are able to cruise but want what we paid for. Time will tell if the program is worth it.
