After cruising the Mexican Riveria, (Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo) many times we tried the Exotic route, (Acapulco, Ixtapa and Manzanillo with 1 more sea day) for a change. Both were great but we sure liked the extra sea day and new ports.

I *loved* this cruise! The extra sea day (two days at sea down, and two days at sea back) made for a very relaxing cruise.

The ports, too, were a welcome change from the standard route -- Zijuatenjo was especially gorgeous. I say book it (plus I like the decor of the Spirit more than the Pride.

Hubby and I are booked on the 8-day Mexican Riviera cruise on the Spirit in December.

Any tips on the embarkation process?

We're especially looking forward to the extra "fun day at sea"....and I'm excited about finally having a balcony cabin! Wooo hooo!

Since we've mostly cruised in the Carribbean before, we're wondering if we can look forward to warm weather and warm water in southern Mexico's Pacific coast in December, like we've always found in the Carribbean.

Terri,
We have cruised out of San Diego twice with 2 different cruiselines and they were both a breeze except we got there too early. DH is always so excited and wants to get there as soon as possible. Only problem, the porters are too busy helping the debarking passengers. I would suggest wait until 11 - 11:30 to arrive at the port then they will be able to help you.
