This spring will be our first cruise on a "Reservations Only Supper Club" ship (Valor). We are a little confused by this. What is the cost? What do they serve? I heard something about a show with the meal. Is it the same thing like they do in the dining rooms? Is it worth it? Thanks for all the help.

If I understand your post, many Carnival ships have Specialty Restaurants that require a reservation to eat there BUT you don't have to if you don't want to. On the Glory it was $25/pp but now I heard it went up to $30. It was worth every penny in my opinion. The food was absolutely delicious as was the presentation and service. It would have been a $100/pp dinner here easily. I have never heard of any ship having a dinner show but on the Spirit they did have singers and a dance floor and the table was ours for the night if we wanted. Then on the Radiance of the Seas, we went to the Murder Mystery Dinner Show which was so funny but again great food. I hope I answered your question.
Cheers,
Teresa

You will find the reservations only supper club to be an extraordinary experience. Not like the dining room at all. Very much like a classy night out "on the town" in a high class NY supper club. Service will be flawlessly classy and superb, food presentation, taste will be fantastic. Entertainment is generally a low key and excellent quality dance musical duo or trio , primarily for background and an occasional dance with your partner between courses. Make it an evening, plan nothing else. A very special experience. Comparable to a $500 night out in NY.
We debated about doing it on our last cruise on the Miracle. I'm glad we decided to go. It was well worth the extra money. We didn't have a show, but there was music and a singer who was awesome. There's also a small dance floor if you wanted to dance.
We ate in the special twice on the Spirit and both cruises it was outstanding and had stone crabs which are a real special treat in south fla.Everything on the menu absolutely outstanding and the servive even better than the dining room.Aduo played dance music whic made the entire experience well wort the extra fare.Do not miss it and make sure you eat on a nite that is not the formal nite due to the great meal in the main dining room.
Thanks for all the info. Do you reserve it ahead of the cruise, or while on the ship? What time are reservations accepted and how? I know we will do it, although the $60/cpl EXTRA is a little steep.

When you get on the ship, they might have a table taking reservations in the lobby, go to the restaurant, call from your cabin or go on the tv and make your reservation. You probably can get any time you want and sometimes they have a special the first cruise night but just don't make it for your last night. It might seem like a steep price but once you experience it you'll be glad. Like I said and others have said, it would be about $300 to $500 meal in local 5 star restaurant. Enjoy!!
