Help! I have searched and haven't been able to find out that if I bring back more then the 1 bottle allowed of tequila home from Mexico will they charge me a fee or take it away? Anyone out there know the answer??
Thanks!
You will only be charged the duty fee and that will only be a couple of dollars. If you get a customs agent that is in a good mood he probably won't charge you for one extra bottle.
Take care,
Mike

On our last cruise on the Conquest, I brought back 1 bottle of rum, 1-bottle of Tequila,and 1 other bottle for my son. ( wife picked it out ) No problems at all. May have been my lucky day, but nothing was said.
Best wishes and happy sailing;
david

The duty is about 15% which is more than offset by the price.Do9 your homework and price at home and get yourself a high end bottle and savor the difference in taste and smoothness.If you want my opinion on best to buy let me know.
If you bring back more than your duty-free allotment, you must declare it on the immigration form you will receive and you must pay the duty(tax). Its a law.
If you are a Texas resident you can only bring home 1 bottle of alcohol. They told us on the Conquest if you are a non-resident of Texas you could bring 5 bottles of alcohol off the ship with no penalty.
