Default AWESOME AWESOME CARNIVAL

Welll wow what a week this has been...every variety of feelings..I am a Deputy Sheriff in Palm Beach County and my husband is as well. Back in Feb we booked our honeymoon cruise for Oct 30th. We wound up getting married in June, because of certain reasons..insurance...me starting a new job and wanting my new name, etc. Sooo we were all ready to have a belated FIRST EVER CRUISE...( honeymoon) and Hurricane Wilma came through...my husband and I thought " ehhh we really probably won't need insurance" NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO WITHOUT IT.
Soooo my Seargent and Captain break the awful news that we are officially on 10-100, meaning we cannot go anywhere, emergency status. Part of the job I chose..I know, and I was upset a bit sad, but heck this is life..the community needs me.
So for 9 days straight 14 hour days no time off My husband and I have been working, I do not know how I have been able to do it..faith and teamwork I guess. I call my T.A. ( a company) and had to cancel the cruise. It was one of the worst things I have had to do..knowing I lost all that money, wow heartbreaking. THEN I was told I could write a letter to Carnival, and send it to the Research Dept. and they might credit me another cruise!!! I wrote the letter and had my Lieutenant write one.
Heres the good part...2 HOURS LATER...for WHAT EVER reason, I get called into the office and my husband gets called into his Lieutenants office, and told WE CAN NOW GO ON THE CRUISE..I almost died..I JUST CANCELLED not two hours ago my cruise. It was up to god and alot of begging to my T.A. that the awesome lady Ilene, was able to RE BOOK me on the ship. BUT I could not get back a balcony room which I paid for. They were all sold out. So I was given an oceanview stateroom..ok so I lost the balcony, but am able to still go..I CAN LIVE!!
I cannot tell you how exhausted I am..mentally physically etc. Our home lost its patio, fence, shed, trees, AND WE ARE GETTING AWAY FROM IT ALL...lol I need this week to unwind. I am greatful to Carnival for giving me another chance, to my travel agent I do not want to say it on here in case I am not allowed, but because of them I am able to go. Thanks again,
and who knows maybe when we get on the ship tomorrow, someone else may have cancelled, and we can get our balcony back or better! Bye 4 now and MIRACLES HAPPEN!~ Joannfla

Joanna, I hope you have a wonderful trip. You and your hubby sure deserve it. Things happen for a reason. With all that you have been going through, you might sleep through the whole trip, but at least it will be a good one.

Have fun.

Luanne

Can't wait to hear about when you get back

Great story JoannFla - by this time you should be sailing on the high seas - I hope it's even better than you imagined - you and your dh certainly deserve it and so much more.

Default Good For You

Hope you are having a glorious time and that Wilma did not do too much damage to your home. I am in Boynton Beach and just got my power back on today after a week. I believe in miracles and am glad you had yours. Let us know how your trip was. We love Carnival too.
