Obstructed view on Carnival Spirit

I have booked room 5179 on Carnival Spirit, Alaska cruise, which is an obstructed view. From what I can tell, there is nothing infront of this balcony. Has anyone had this room, or one like it? What did you think? Is it worth the 700.00 upgrade cost?

Even though it doesn't look like anything is obstructing your view, actually there is something. The life boats hang right outside your balcony, therefore they hang low enough to block some of your view. If that won't bother you than I would just stay with the room you have. If you don't feel comfortable having the life boats hanging over your balcony area, than you might want to look into a different room.

Those cabins are either partially or fully obstructed because the lifeboats are in front of you. Fully obstructed you are looking at the white slab side of a lifeboat. Partially obstructed you can peek between two of them.
