I have an aft cabin on Carnival Spirit and would like to know if anyone can review this cabin for me? Are there fumes when you are on the balcony? Would it be better on the side of the ship? I like the idea of being able to see both sides since we are doing the Alaska trip.
Thanks Harry. I am so excited I don't know if I can wait until July! We did the same cruise 2 years ago, and had a balcony on the side. Alaska is my kids favorite desination. How did you keep the door open?
I haven't sailed on the Spirit, but have sailed on the Miracle, which is a spirit class ship. If you look in the photo gallery, I have quite a few pics of our aft balcony - under Miracle pics - Dorothy

Kathy, to keep the door open requires a tad bit of work, but you can do it. Just get one long bungee cord (or hook two small ones together). Latch it on the door handle and then under the partition, and voila, it's propped open. FYI: It does turn off the A/C/heat though -- there is a sensor.

Sorry about the test down below -- but I was having trouble logging on and didn't want to write a bunch only to have it kicked off.
Hubby and I just got back from Spirit to Alaska in September and had an aft cabin. You are going to LOVE it! We were actually upgraded to it. No fumes, no soot (we were in cabin 7349), wonderful everything! I don't think we closed the door one night. I love sleeping with the sound of waves. Hooked the bungie cord to keep the door open. It was great! The only complaint I had was that the naturalist that came over the loudspeaker to talk about various animals or sites that were being seen -- we could not hear her. They don't program it to be heard inside the cabin, so we did miss out on some of that. But, the good outweighed the bad. Go enjoy!!!
