Help!!!! We are on Liberty. Can anyone tell me if they charge to get into the Atlantis aquarium in Nassau and how much a taxi ride to there is???? Liberty great. Anyone going in the next weeks know that you can actually arrive at the pier as early as 9am. This saves on the line wait. You also have chairs to sit in until you can embark. We embarked on Dec. 4th.
you can take a taxi either land or water over to Paradise Island and Atlantis Resort, i don't recall the taxi fare off hand, i know that i was cheap. When you get to Atlantis you go to the casino, there will be a kiosk there where you purchase your tickets for the Aquarium it was $27.00 per person when we went. Well worth the cost.
Just off the Liberty yesterday. the taxi (land) was $4 a person and took about 10-15 minutes...the Dig cost is $29 and I didn't pay anything to see the aquariums as they are in a public area.
I was disappointed in Atlantis as you can't hardly do anything there w/o being a "guest" drinks for $10 just are too high, the only way I guess I can really see Atlantis is to book a room there and go for long weekend. Tried to book through the Comfort Inn and yet when I tried to check in, they doubled the rate...did that to everyone in our group who had made reversations. I will dispute any charge they put on my account as they changed the rate. Watch out booking with them! My TA made my reservation and I told her it was for FOUR adults but when I tried to check in they said my rate was only for TWO adults and doubled the rate....I had booked through AAA be very very careful when dealing with the Comfort suites!
I am very interested in what you did get to see at Atlantis for the $29.00 and what you could have seen without paying the money. I am going in January. You mentioned that the aquarium was free ? I thought that is what the charge was for??

There were several huge tanks very much accessable without having to pay anything, just walk down the stairs and walk along the wall to view all the fish. Tthere was a dark tunnel which you had to have tickets for which were the digs. I didn't pay the $29 to see anything. I just walked around and saw what I could see. Atlantis has a wonderful website which will give you a "tour" of what the "dig" is (a faux archelogical exhibition). I want to go stay at the Atlantis for a weekend so I can see more of the grounds, which appeared to be amazing but not accessable unless you were a guest.
Well, after dinner, we went for a LONG stroll through the intricate maze of corridors. We ended up over near some villas; that whole are was beautiful. We made our way back along the "boardwalk", then through the main swimming area, and we found oursleves at the beach end of the dig. We walked through. No charge.
I felt like I was walkiing through the MONH, with all the different tanks of different sea creatures. We ended up exiting at that lower level entrance. Apparently, the dig is free at night, after all the "tourists" have left.
Would it have been worth the $29? Not sure. But I'm glad to have seen it.
Afterwards, we went over to the marina for ice cream, and then back to our lowly hotel on Cable Beach.

you miss quite a lot by just walking around the outside and viewing the tanks. Once inside you are in a long tunnel basically and you are surrounded by marine life, on both sides and over your head.
