Default Walk to pier 19 Port Everglades?

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express, It looks close from the map, but can we walk there? Just small carry-ons, no large luggage to drag along. I had heard shuttles or taxi's from hotels were a joke around 11am. Thanks, James

It's probably possible to walk it, but it's not near as close as it looks....Especially with luggage.

I've never had a problem getting a taxi from Ft Laud hotels. And from you are staying it'll be under $10.

Its a lot further than it looks, its about 3 miles from the hotel to the security gate, then its probably another mile(at least) to the cruise terminal.
Taxis will be flowing in a constant circle, not a problem to get one. If you want to use the hotels shuttle, reserve your spot as soon as you check-in, 11am is peak time, if its zooey wait a little bit untill things calm down some.

Take a cab around noon time. Avoid the big 11:00AM rush. You'll probably make it with just a few minutes wait.

Default Walk to Pier 19 Port Everglades

We stayed at Extended Stay next door to Holiday Inn Express two weeks ago. We called for a cab about 11 and they were there in five minutes. We could see the ships from our room, but the configuration getting there is much different and it takes awhile even by cab because of different areas for docking. It is really deceiving from a hotel room. Some berths are a half mile, some close to two miles.
