Default Rude people on the Upper Deck?

We are cruising on the Inspiration in March. On another board, there is a complaint that there were many rude, very loud people on this particular deck. We are booked for inside cabins on the Upper Deck at the recommendation of the cruise agent that I talked to. I asked for the "quietest cabin" and she said the upper deck was good because it was between floors that all had cabins, as opposed to being under a show or restaurant or whatever.

My feeling is that you might end up with noisy neighbors on ANY deck on ANY ship, but I just wondered if anyone else has had problems on the Inspiration or the Upper Deck in particular. I may be able to change location, albeit for a fee.

I have been on 5 cruises now and the 6th one coming up. I have been on different floors and different cabins and different. ships. I have never been bothered by any other passengers. Not to say that someone else hasnt been bothered. I am just saying there is no way to say if u have a upper deck cabin u will have lots of noise. Jsut go and have the best time of your life. how can u go wrong to be on a cruise! Enjoy it all... Happy cruising.....

You cannot lump people all together like that. It just does not make sense anymore than saying all people wearing black shoes are rude and all people who are wearing hats are thieves, etc. You will be fine and if you meet a rude person smile and be glad you are not like them.

I have found that the rude people quarters are confined to the upper deck.

I have been on 11 CCL cruises and on pretty much every deck - all I have encountered is a few door slammers - not intentional - they just let door slam behind them. Cruise 12 and 13 coming up on the only deck I haven't had a cabin on - the Lido deck - I hope that it is as relatively peaceful as the others.

This may be the wave of the future. Seperate out the passengers when booking.
All the door slammers on one deck, rudes an another, loud drunks on another, chronic complainers on another, etc. Whoops--- may run out of decks though.

But seriously, saying everyone on a certain deck is rude, loud, or whatever is simply hogwash. You can be unlucky on any ship, any deck , any cruise but chances are you will be fine.

My first cruise was on the inspiration on the upper deck. Sorry I cant remember the exact cabin number at this moment but we encountered no noise. It was very quiet and we were just outside the elevators.

Once we were positioned next to a party group who decided to bring it back to their cabin. I simply proceeded to call security as many times as it took for them to finally convince them to move the party out of their room, which they finally did. This was the only time I ever encountered a problem such as this. And it can happen anywhere....

Default Inspiration

Kcmom,
We sailed on the Inspiration in 2001, and had the best cruise ever. The atmosphere onboard was undescribable We absolutely hated to end that cruise. If it where possible, that would've been a great back - back cruise to have been on We had great food, and are blessed to have made a ton of wonderful memories that will last forever
And according to past cruisers here, she's still dishing out great service, and wonderful cruises
I would keep your room. Upper Deck is a good floor. We had great room service from that floor You could have the same problem on the Rivera deck, or ect !

Remember to , leave all worries at home, and come with a positive attitude. Relax and get ready to be waited on and pampered for a few days.

Hope you have a wonderful cruise;
David

When I first read this, I thought it was a joke. How would Carnival know to put all the loud people on one floor. The Upper deck on any ship is a good place. The best thing to remember is you are on vacation. If you hear noise, roll over and go back to sleep knowing you are in a place where many others would sale their mother to be in your place. When people make comments about their floor being more noisy, newbies take it to heart. ( I know, because that is what I did) Plan your vacation, and go and have a great time. When you get home you can sleep without noise, but I guarantee it won;t be as much fun.

Sorry, Luanne, but I have to disagree with you. If I'm putting out big bucks for a nice vacation, that doesn't mean I have to put up with inconsiderate people who want to party in their room without any regard for others. There are PLENTY of lounges, etc., to party in on the ship without keeping others from getting some good sleep so they can get up bright and early the next day and enjoy seeing the sights without being exhausted!

Maybe some people just don't like confrontation, but I'm considerate of others and expect the same, and being on vacation doesn't make it right.

I'm sorry Jean. I went back through and read all and realized you were talking about a full blown party. I did not consider that, when I commented. I agree with you that if it is a party rather than a slamming door, it should be reported.

Luanne, we understand the captain received complaints from people in cabins below you regarding the 24 hour all night wild parties and strange noises and vibrating bed sounds that emulated from in your room every night...we noticed you didn't include this in your reviews (VBG)

On a serious note, I don't think we all understand how thin the walls really are until your cabin neighbors look at you funny in the morning and call you by your "special name" when they see you come out your cabin and you say good morning...don't ask me how I know (VBG)
