Monday and Friday are formal nights on 7 day cruises leaving on Sunday. Use the ship guide you are given when boarding so you can find your way around. The ship is huge and the theme is colonial. A bit gaudy for some but for us patriotic people it is neat.
You may want to consider eating your meals in the restuarants that serve you since the buffet is a zoo around breakfast and lunch.
Embarking goes pretty smooth but disembarking is a nightmare in Miami.
We found the rooms big and airy (for a cruise ship) around 180sq. ft. The room stewards are friendly and efficient as are the resturant staff but the buffet staff and matre d' needs a bit of improvment.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your cruise and remember what you read on these threads are only one persons opinion and like anything else this experience will be what you make it.
Hey there Chefkel22. We just got off the Valor on Sunday. Let me tell you that it was an amazing cruise. The food, the entertainment, the ship and the entire cruise experience. The crew and staff are all great too. We went on the western trip on this cruise. As for disembarking, we chose the "self assist" method as we had a 12:45 flight out of Fort Lauderdale. This meant that you carried your own luggage off the ship. They called us at 7:15am, we were off the ship at 7:45, on a cab and at the airport at 8:30. Way too early!! 4 hours before the flight! Talk about getting off the ship fast. Anyways, it was a fantastic cruise (Hi Larry) and you will really enjoy it. Except for the post cruise blues.
