Default Ship woes.

My heart goes out for QM 2 passengers who are recieving a 50 percent refund because of the ship's mechanical problems. At least they are going to get something! If they were sailing on Carnival, they wouldn't get SQUATT!

I too sure feel for those folks. A cruise like that would be a dream for
most people. Not sure though exactly what anyone can do. I'm sure the problem was not one that the Capt. or crew on the QM2 would have wanted to happen for anything. As far as compensation , Carnival owns Cunard, which operates the QM2. No matter what happens now, one thing you can be sure of and that is that not everyone is going to be happy.

Thats for sure. You can never make everyone happy. I have been on most all the lines and you find the same stuff on every line. (but I think much less on Carnival to be honest) There is always someone who will find a complaint about something. The way I see it, if you complain much on a cruise, you must really be spoiled at home.

Cruise on, cruise on!!!!!!!!

The passengers got a cruise the length they were promised and paid for. They are also getting 50% back. Yes it is upsetting to lose ports but I think they got a great deal. Ship happens.
Mr Smith, I seem to remember you posting negatively about a cruise on Carnival Valor awhile ago. Yet you are booked for March on another Carnival ship. If you hate Carnival so much why do you book them?

Reply to Laura. Yes you are correct. I am not too crazy of Carnival, but my neice is performing on the ship( the best of CCL that i have sailed on.)And my relatives are going. It will be a time I can spend with them since a long while. Things should be better this time, and if not, then it will be the last time for sure! Maurice

Default Newest news on QM2 refunds

For those getting off in Rio they can now get a full 100% refund including airfare or 50% off/air fare And 75% a cruise to be taken before Dec 2007.

Think I would go for the second option myself.

Mr Smith, Thank you for the reply. I certainly do hope you enjoy your cruise. I recently cruised Carnival Glory..................wonderful!!!
For NLB that is not a bad deal at all. I too would take the second offer.
