Default New Embarkation Times?

When I dropped off my niece and nephew for their December cruise, I noticed they had to wait outside the terminal for a bit. It was around 12 noon when we arrived. The doors to the terminal opened after noon and they had a speedy embarkation from that point on.

On Carnival's website a new FAQ reads:

>>Important Embarkation Arrival Advisory

We strongly encourage you to not arrive at the cruise terminal more than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled embarkation time for your cruise. Due to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, early arriving guests may not be permitted to enter the cruise terminal upon arrival. Early arrivals may have a prolonged wait time in potentially warm or inclement weather conditions. For your comfort and convenience, please plan for your arrival at the cruise terminal no more than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled embarkation time for your cruise. >>

Anyone experience a delay when boarding because of this? We usually arrive by 10:30 or 11 and are onboard by 11:30 or 12 noon.

Unfortunately, that is also what my TA told me...I have a similar thread going called "Question for recent Port Canaveral cruisers".

Dorothy, do you remember how much past noon it was when they opened the doors?

I have always showed up at the terminal by 10:30 at the latest and am usually on the ship within a couple of hours at the most. I do know they say not to be there before certian times but I think that is to prevent everyone from showing up in a rush to get on the ship quickly before debarkation is complete. I think every week and every cruise line is a little different. There are weeks that customs goes really fast getting off ships and others when it gets hung up for one reason or another.
