I had no complaints on the food while on Glory this past Sept. You certainly will not starve. One day at lunch after lunch in the buffet, they had a chocolate buffet to die for, if you enjoy chocolate, be sure to check that out. There was also a Mexican buffet on the higher level that we didn't find until almost the end of the cruise, so check that out too for lunch.
I don't think food has slipped either. My only complaint with Carnival in the food dept. has been the buffets. Cold breakfast items and the one night we decided to try the buffet instead of the dining room the only vegetable ANYWHERE was mashed potatoes!
But all in all, I find the food to be very good.

The food was wonderful on the Glory when I was aboard in September. Everything from Asian to pizza. I was traveling with a "fishaholic" we spent many lunches one deck up from the lido where they had wonderful seafood offerings.
I've been on both the Inspiration and the Miracle within the last year and found the food quality on both ships to be excellent.

Yeah, the food is pretty darn great, if you ask me. My DB and I often talk about how great that Chevre pizza was on Destiny and Triumph. We have since tried to make it at home (came out pretty good, too!). However, the "Diet Cakes" do taste sort of similar....like fruity sweet-n-low.....You start to eat the full fat deserts because, well, who likes to eat fruity sugar subsitute??
But, back to the good comments........really yummy food! I LOVE the soups...they are just so creative!

I think the food quality has slipped. On my recent cruise on the Liberty. I found out it had slipped even more since my Carnival cruise prior to the Liberty. At the taste of the nations buffet had an incomplete selection. And what was on the buffet either didn't make sense with the nation displayed or wasn't good. The Indian food sounded good, but only had a choice of five meats. There was no sauce or rice to go with the food. The American food buffet had only two things that looked American to me. The fried chicken looked good, but with no gravy or mashed potatoes to go with it, it didn't seem complete. Right next to it was New England Clam Chowder. It didn't taste anything like clam chowder. I found the dinning room food to have a slightly better quality. But the desserts weren't all that great. The cheesecake tasted warm and gummy. The cherries jubilee and the baked alaska weren't even served on this cruise. I miss how on my first cruise how they served the cherries jubilee flaming.
