Default Skippers Club?

When we received our docs. for 2/11/06 on the Triumph they had Skippers Club check in (or something to that effect), they say to go to a representative of Carnival when we get to the terminal. What exactly is the skippers club. Is it a quick check in?
Thanks for your responses. I have learned soooo much by reading the message boards.

Skipper's Club is for Carnival passengers who have booked a Category 11 or Category 12 suite. It is an expedited check in procedure.

If it works (sometimes its worked for me as designed, others those doing the Skipper Club check in had no idea), the idea is to check you in and get you your boarding cards in a seperate "skippers club lounge" and then escort you through any line ups and right onboard.

Surprisingly they don't have an expedited process for the same guests debarking the vessels at the end of the cruise.

Kuki thanks for the information, but we're booked for a guarantee balcony not an 11 or 12 suite. We have cruised Carnival 4 times and this is the first time our docs. say skippers club. Could it be just giving us a quicker check in and nothing else. I would be floored if it was an extravagant upgrade.
Thanks for your input.

Jean, which ship are you sailing on? Some balcony suites qualify for Skippers Club. I can only speak to the Ecstasy or the Elation.

In a perfect world, Skippers Club member service should be quicker than standing in long lines waiting to be checked in. However...when all of those who qualify, show up at the terminal at one time, there can be some lag time before all are accomodated. The simple truth of this is,......how can anyone know when those who have suites will show up?

I hope all goes well for you and that you have been upgraded dramatically! ! I have seen it happen with my own eyes!

Jean.. let's hope it means you've been upgraded to a CAT 11 or 12 suite. That would be sweet!

It sounds like you are getting an upgrade to a cat 11 or 12 suite!! We just returned for the Triumph Jan 21 sailing and we got to go to the Skippers Club as this was our 10th cruise. When you go to the Skipper's club and get checked in, you will wait there until a rep comes to get you. This is where you have to be careful!! After we went through security, we got seperated from the rest of the Skipper's Club group (my hubby beeped as he went through security and we had to go through again). We tried to find them and ask another rep where we go to catch up with the rest of the Skipper's club and that they had just left the security area and we boarding the ship. She told us to get into the LONG line of passengers waiting to board and would not help us get back to the right place. So we had to wait in the line and board with the rest of the people waiting. I went back to her twice and explained that we were Skipper's Club and she didn't seem to care, she just said like I told you...you will have to wait with the others and board when they do. So I guess the point I'm trying to make is....try to stay with the group after you leave the Skipper's Club room or you could wind up back in line!!!

Enjoy the experience!
