Can someone that has done the Lost World Canopy tour in Belize tell me what it is like? Is it hard to climb the ladder? Did you feel safe doing this? Do all ages do this? How many people are in a group?
I did the zip lining in Costa Rica, but I am sure it is the same idea...?
I don't consider myself to be all that physically fit, and am afraid of heights (not deathly afraid, just a bit afraid - won't lean on balconies, not big on ladders, that kind of thing). I had no problems with the zip lining. The first ascent to a tree was by stair case, and we were actually attached with our equipment even for that. The first few trees scared me a bit, they had a lot of movement, but the zip lining itself was a blast. You can hardly even see the ground, at least where we were - it was mostly the top of other trees. You concentrate more on where you are going that you do looking down. Our instructor said they had an 80+yr old couple do it. It is not physically demanding and you are attached to a cable at ALL times. The lady right in front of us chickened out after two zip lines, but did eventually end up doing it in tandem with a guide.
