I'm glad to have found this site! I have plenty of questions and I appreciate everyone's input.
We're cruising on Carnival's Fascination ship in April. It's a 5 day/4 night cruise from Miami to Key West then to Calica/Playa del Carmen then back to Miami.
First, I heard on another site about a "skipper's" pass; has anyone heard about that? The person said to make sure you have one before checking in. Maybe I misunderstood. Is that different from a fun pass?
Anything to make check-in more smooth sounds good to me.
Also, does anyone have any thoughts on what to do in either Key West or Calica if we don't want to shop or do any of the prepaid excursions? What if we just want to lay on a nice beach?
We did the beach break in Calica that Carnival offers. If you just want to lay on the beach it's beautiful. We wanted to swim and there was a lot of seaweed at the time - December. Also, they had open bar.
Key West - we did a trolley tour. Only an hour and very informative about Key West. Would definitely recommend this.
I to am going on the Fascination in April (24th), I have been on her 4 times already. I have done key west 2 times on her, we walked around both times, but this time we plan to go on a boat where you go out and look at the dolphins and then snorkel then off to Margaritaville afterwards.
I have not done Calica yet, we always went to Cozumel. But we hae planned to do a zipline jungle tour, hopefully it is fun.
