Hi everyone, me and my DH are sailing to the Western Caribbean. Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios are our ports of call. This is our first cruise and we are soooo excited. I have looked into the excursions and we were wanting to know if the Mayan Ruins at Tulum is worth the visit. It is a 7 hr. excursion through Carnival.
By the way, this is the nicest MB I have visited. The answers and advice given have been really helpful. We have been reading the boards for a while now, but this is our first post.
Well, Grimmy, I can't really say anything about the Mayan ruins, we just stayed close to the post when we were in Cozumel but going with the Carnival excursion is your best bet. You don't want to go off on your own too far. We actually ended up getting an hour presentation on a time share at one of the hotels and then were able to use their pool and beach.
Now for Ocho Rios, most definitely you want to climb Dunns River Falls. It was just incredible. We climbed all the way to the top, even my 6 year old. Everyone helps each other up and the guides film it for the ship.
