Default Carnival Wins!!!!! By a long shot!

Ok, ok! I can now finally say that Carnival is better than Royal Caribbean! I just returned from a cruise on The Royal Caribbean Splendour and I have to say that Carnival has them beat in all areas! Food, service, cleanliness is all much better on Carnival. I am now looking forward to my next cruise which will be on The Conquest! I will never stray again! Promise!!!!!

Welcome back from the dark side, . I, too, stay with Carnival since I tried the Grand Princess, and I have always been happy with Carnival.

Never had a bad cruise with Carnival. To be fair though I have never had a bad cruise on other lines either. Carnival is my favorite and I tend to choose them more often.

MUST AGREE THAT i HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD CRUISE ON ANY LINE .IT SURE BEATS STAYING AT HOME.WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU TRY ONE OF THE NEWER SHIPS AT RCL BEFORE YOU MAKE A FINAL DECISION TO IGNORE THEM IN ALL FUTURE PLANS.HAVING TAKEN SOME 30 PLUS CRUISES I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THER ARE CERTAIN ASPECTS ON EACH CRUISE LINE WHICH TAKES THEM TO THE TOP AND MANY OF THESE AREAS WILL TOP ANY CARNIVAL SHIP.

I have to somewhat agree with big apple on this one. Don't discount a cruiseline due to one subpar cruise. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed Carnival as much as I do (only cruiseline I have ever cruised), but had I left them after one really hard cruise in 2002, I would have missed out on the two best cruises of my life on the Glory and the Spirit.

Stay with Carnival, sure, but don't let that clould your options- everyone (cruiseline) deserves a second chance. I have stayed with CCL, because I know what to expect, their prices can't be beat, and they provide what I am looking for in a vacation. One day I will try another cruiseline, but for the time being I am staying with Carnival.

Our first cruises years ago were on the Premier lines, The Big red Boat. Had many good cruises on them. Then tried the RC Some years after that. But when we have tried Carnival and never had a problem at all on any of our cruises. Always got a great deal on price the food is always very good. always had wondrful service. I guess if we dont have any trouble then why change. We Love Carnival. Going on number 6 in a few weeks. Thats why we love Carnival. I have never come home thinking about any trouble we had on our cruise. Never once. Not to say it could never happen. But we all go on our vacatiosn with the thoughts that we are going to have the time of our lives and it all comes to us. What more can I say....... Happy cruising.......

we have never had a bad cruise with over 30 plus cruises and we have been on all of the main line cruises to include:Carnival,RCL NCL,Cunard Costa Sitmar Princess,Celebrity ,Holland America ,World Renaissance Epiratiki, and P&O many years ago My only point is that you have nothing to compare until you look on the other side of the fence and believe me there are some things that are supperior to carnival

I'm sure glad you like Carnival...different strokes for different
folks!! I've been on RCI, Celebrity, and Carnival and CCL is my
least favorite. The only time I book Carnival is when I go on
a group cruise, and Carnival is chosen for whatever reason...usually
cheap...Some of their older ships should be retired because
of the condition...ie. Sensation, Fantasy.

Carnival is not always the cheapest and even this last year we have taken 2 cruises on celebrity and holland which have been less than anything on ccl on a per day basis .Do your homework before you make this statement.

Default I agree with earlier posters,

and would never dismiss an entire cruiseline from one cruise experience.

Although we have only cruise with Carnival to date ( 22 for hubby, 12 for the rest of our family of four)...we will indeed try other lines in the future.

Each time we decide on a cruise, we do our research and decide which ship is best suited for our needs at the time.

Seasoned travelers know that not all cruise lines are for all people. (wouldn't that be boring ) I would never be arrogant enough to put someone else down because their preference is different than mine.

hlp, certainly did not think I was arrogant in just stating
my preference for a different line..and the group cruises
were all chosen because of price in those instances.

I know some cruisers prefer Carnival, just like others prefer
other lines...we all should try different lines to see the difference.

I was only stating my opinion. I would certainly like to
try Crystal or Silverseas, etc., but won't get the opportunity
b ecause of (again) price.

Why argue about a thing like that? If you want to get out of the Caribbean and see a bit more of the world, or get away from kids, you might have to give Carnival a rest. Then too, there might come a time in your life when a cruise is for something other than a party. There are plenty of great lines and plenty of great ships. And a very big and wonderful world out there to see. There are choices for every taste. Carnival knows this, that's why they bought Holland, Princess and Cunard. different strokes for different folks! Respect those whose style differs from your own.

Lou: I did not mean to direct that to you at all. (or anyone on this board) I was just saying that no one should judge an entire cruise line on one cruise or one ship.

Even the best of cruises can have an off week.

Why do all of these posts have to end up w/ negativity and people bickering? I merely wanted to voice my opinion that I ( me, myself, and only me) felt that Carnival was better than Royal Caribbean as far as my cruise experience was! Geez folks...this is only a message board about cruiseships!
