Default shore excursions, who to book with and what do you think?

Greetings All,

We (wife & 8 yr. old son) are on the May 28th Conquest sailing. We're wanting to do some shore excursions but probably will not book through Carnival.

I've read a ton of advertisements on booking through local companies, would like to hear what other folks have done and thought about local companies?

We're interested in stingray city and swimming with dolphins in particular. Also any advise on buying coffee in Jamica would be appreciated. I love their coffee!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! This is only our second cruise, the first time we mainly stayed on the ship.

I'll be leaving a review of the cruise as soon as we get home....

Thanks...

Jim

Default excursions

we leave next sunday for the western caribbean. we chose a company called grandcaymanexcursions. they tailor specifically to the cruise ships.
we were able to book all 3 ports of call with them., less money and smaller tour groups, plus we get 3 snorkeling stops in one trip at grand cayman includes stingray city. you can pm me for more info if you like. excited does not begin to explain how we feel !!!

Hey, fellow Memphian (well actually suburb of Memphis) but close!!!

If the Conquest is doing the Cozumel, Jamaica, Grand Cayman route, the only place I would do a ship excurion with is Jamaica. We have been there several times and I still don't get a warm fuzzy feeling about that place.

Cozumel is fun and safe and you can grab a taxi to and from anywhere at all times. We went to Paradise Beach the last time and had a great time. If you like laying on the beach and playing in the water. The use of their tables, umbrellas and lounge chairs are all free. They do charge $8 if you want a wrist band to use their non-motorized toys for the day. Before Wilma, they had an iceberg and water trampoline and a lot of other stuff. Not sure what is still there.

Grand Cayman is definately the place to swim with sting rays.

Have a great time.
