Default birth cert ??'s

Hey guys...

Just a few questions about berth cert questions.

Can you use a cert copy on your cruise, and does it need to have a raised seal on it? My girlfriend has a cert copy but it doesn't have the raised seal. It is legit, but I don'r know if it will be okay with carnival.

Going on the valor(april 23rd)!! Looking forward to a great cruise.

Thanks for your help

Hi CBXRay
We too are cruising on the Valor on the 23rd of April!! We'll see you aboard.
I have read that the birth cert must have a raised seal, however, it's best to call Carnival and ask them. If that's the case, at least you have a couple of months to get the required documentation, if you find out for sure right now.
Good luck, and once again, we'll see you aboard!
Ken

P.S. Do you ride a CBX?

Thx sky..

I thought that was the case, but I'll contact carnival just to make sure.

No I don't ride a cbx, that's my initials and my job(mri actually).

Looking forward to seeing you aboard

If the b/c is a state-issued one, it will be ok. Nothing from a hospital, only from the state. It must be certified by the state, no photocopies.

All states used the raised seal at one time; however, many states are now issuing b/cs on watermark paper.

You'd better be sure she has the correct one; otherwise, she might just be waving at you as you sail away...seriously. I've seen that happen twice when people had the wrong type b/c!

Default Birth certificate

My original b.c. had a huge raised seal and my baby footprints. My newer one the raised seal is barely visable. Anyway, my name has changed twice since birth and how a birth certificate can or has been used as identification is beyond me.
I now have a passport after much procrastination.

You can always go to your states' Department of Health and Vital Statistics website on-line and order an original. I believe it runs about $20 or so. Plus mailing fees.

The last b/c I got from my state was $6. Going to a state agency (many in each state) you can get them on the spot.
