Default What is tendering?

I'm sure most know what that means, but never cruised before and just curious about all the cruise *terms*

Tendering is where you take a smaller boat from the cruise ship to the pier. In some places due to the reef system, depth or other reasons the ship can't dock at a pier close to shore.

Actually, tendering is what is done to all cruisers just before they suck all the money out of your wallet!! Oops, my bad...that is alcohol consumption.

Darcy is correct.Some tenders are short,and some rather long. If you get motion sickness this is a good time to take motion sickness pill way before tendering long runs out.The ocean gets a bit choppy at times.

Sometimes the vessel will use its own lifeboats as tenders.
