You can take it but do you really want to carry all that weight? You can pick up what you want when at the different ports and there's vending machines on the ships. It all depends on how much pop your going to drink.

We always put one of those 12 pack cubes of Pepsi in our carry on. I think the 2 ltr bottles would be too cumbersome and they lose their fizz fast. With the cans, you can take a couple to lunch, bingo, art auction, etc, much easier.

I agree Teresa. Cans are much easier then you dont need to worry about cups and ice, etc. I will be taking those "mini" cans with us-I think those will work out great.

I just got back from the Pride and for the first time took 3 two liters instead of bottles or cans. I took them on with me on to the ship and they said nothing. I have done it both ways.

Hot Nail - Of course they won't say anything! They allow soft drinks to be brought on board. They don't care what brand or in what form you bring them. Personally, I take the 6-pack of 16-oz. plastic-bottled Cokes.

Yes, you can certainly buy them in ports and bring them back onto the ship with no problem. However, bear in mind that the ones bottled in different countries or on islands do NOT have the same taste, as the water is different.

If you are in Mexico try a Coke Light. It is diet coke but it is sooooo much better because it is made with Aspertame instead of Nutrasweet.

Yum!

dina - on my 14 cruises I have never seen a vending machine on a ship. Ever. Hotels, yes; cruise ships, no.

On Destiny it was on the Empress Deck all the way forward in a little room with a glass door right next to the ice machine. I asked one of the room guys and they pointed me in the right direction.

Every Carnival ship I've sailed on has vending machines for soft drinks. Just ask at the purser's desk for the locations.

Isn't Aspertame and Nutrasweet the same?

Annie - you are correct. They are one and the same. I have no idea why Rob made that remark
