We are sailing on valor 4/2 and would like some excursion recommendations. We port at Grand Caymans, Belize, Roatan Island and Costa Maya. We would love to hear about what are the best things to do. It's our first trip so I'm leaning towards booking everything thru Carnival. I'm a little nervous about going with outside companies with fear of missing the boat. Also there are only the 2 of us so is it hard to book with a private vendor being that we are such a small group. Thanks for any help.
Grand Cayman is an easy place to book your own Stingray City excursion. We went with Captain Marvin's. Remember you tender in GCayman though. It is an English speaking, quite a safe place for tourists.
Belize is somewhere to have something planned-either a Carnival excursion or with a well-known,reputable excursion company. We ended up at Goff's Caye-which was very lovely for snorkeling and beautiful beach time. We got the excursion once we got to shore with a company in the cruiseship 'compound'.The tendering is a lot longer; but they dropped us back at the ship after so we did not have to go back to Belize and then back out to the ship.
Roatan we snorkeled also. I think it would be wise to have something preplanned for that port also.
Costa Maya=?? (We were at Cozumel.)
I hope you get more opinions from other cruisers and look in the Destinations posts for more ideas. Have a great cruise.
