help with cancellation issues

I can't believe this but I just got a call from my friend that she can't go on our cruise. We leave next Sunday, April 9th, on the Conquest. There are 4 of us girls with 2 balcony rooms. So.....my husband is now going to step in and make the "sacrifice" to go. I just don't know if we have time to replace her. I know with homeland security you have to do all this before x amount of days prior to sailing. Does anyone know???
I will be calling my travel agent first thing in the morning.

All help is appreciated!!!!!

I'm almost sure you can change the cancelled persons name to your husbands name. You may have to pick up the documents when you board ship. You also may be charged for the name change. As long as one of the regular people that originally paid for the cabin is still in the room, you should not have problems, just an extra charge of maybe $25.00. Good Luck and enjoy your Cruise. You didnt mention airfare involved. That could be a problem!

Time won't be the issue, as they have time to change the manifest before turning it in.

You will have to hope your TA finds a cooperative Carnival rep. They may or may not be willing to allow the name change. And if they do, I would assume there'll be a service charge for doing so.

Yes, Carnival charges $50 for a name change, and it must be done at least 72 hrs. prior to sailing. The new docs will have to be picked up at the pier since there won't be time for you to receive them via mail.

I would hope the person who backed out is gracious and reimburses you that $50!

If your DH hadn't 'agreed' to go, she would have been out the ENTIRE amount of the cruise fare....so she'll be getting off pretty cheaply by giving you the $50. Also, you would have had to pay more to occupy the cabin as a solo cruiser.

Yeppers....Just found out that it's no problem. Cost to change the name is $50 and now it's the other husband who's going. And he also is eligible for the military discount so they don't have to pay extra. This time next week, I'll be enjoying the beautiful, blue gulf and counting my lucky stars!!! Thanks for the help.
