We are planning on taking my 17yr old step daughter on our next cruise. I know when we took her on one when she was younger( they had kids club and plenty to do) but now that she is going to be 17 for this next one, what kind of activites do they have for that age? Any info would be helpful.
Have a great cruise all!! 8)
Carnival now caters to the older teens (ages 15-17) through their Club02 program. My boys, ages 15 and 17, participated in Club02 on the Conquest and had a fun time. There will be a couple of activities during the day and, after dinner, each night. Not as organized or structured as Camp Carnival, but just enough for the older teens to meet each other and have something to do at night (dancing, movies, karaoke, etc). The activities end around midnight or 1am. Some of the daytime activities included sports contests (ping pong, basketball) and trivia contests. These weren't well attended on our cruise as the older teen usually do their own thing in the day time. But, it's available for those who are interested.
The most important thing is that your daughter attend the first night activities so she meets up with other people her age. There will be something around dinner time (my kids just popped in, signed up and picked up the weekly schedule). There will also be a "teen hang" or something like that after dinner. Just check the capers when you board.
Also let her know that the adult disco is not open to those under 18 after 10pm, so if she makes older friends and they want to hang out there, she won't be able to. (just letting you know in case she asks............)
