I've seen several people in wheelchairs on board and they don't seem to have any trouble getting around. The halls are wide enough to accomodate one, the elevators are large enough and at dinner they will remove a chair if she needs the wheelchair in the dining room. While it may not be as easy to do some of the shore excursions, there are others that you could do where she would just need to sit, such as a city tour by taxi, a catamaran trip, etc.

I'm so sorry about your wifes ankle but DO not cancel by any means! It is difficult in some aspects. I had brought my dad on several occassions in a wheelchair. He could walk, but was limited. The halls are wide enough and 'most' people are considerate where the wheelchairs are concerned. Go and have fun! It may be difficult sometimes, but definitely not impossible! Have fun!!

Default Handicap Accessible

Big Daddy,
My wife and I are leaving for Honolulu on 4-28 to board the Carnival Spirit. This is our first, but have been assured that all US ships & ports must conform to the ADA provisions. Did you get a handicap-accessible room???

Happy sailing, and God bless...
