Did you read mine from Oct 2004? I have cruised RCI 10 times and Carnival once.

I was on the Sensation sailing that was delayed from port. It is true that the slide wasn't open on that sailing, but only one of the two pool bars was closed for renovations, as fast as they were working on it and how much they go done in the four days I was onboard, it should be done by now.

I talked to someone yesterday who said she thought they put the ship back in drydock for a couple of weeks, but I cannot confirm that.

When are you sailing? I am sailing her again on 11/26/06.

Jodi

I work at Cape Canaveral AFS, and the Sensation was in Port when I drove by this morning.

I leave on the Sensation this Sunday (Easter) with my Husband and Kids.
I want to be excited but am worried about what shape she is in, I have read all about her first sailing since Katrina and the slide being closed, which I hope is no longer the case it is what my kids are waiting for. I also heard about the smell though the ship which would be horrible. I also heard the mimi golf course not being operational my kids are also looking forward to this. If you have any recent information on recent sailing, espeially since the first sailing. Any One please Help

I was on the first sailing.

1. The smell many people are referring to was the new carpet - I agree not a pleasant smell, but a very distinct one. I found no sign of a sewage smell, like some people are saying.

2. Mini golf was operational. You pick up the golf balls at a stand by the Lido deck pool, then the clubs and course are up one deck.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions.

I JUST GOT OFF THE SENSATION YESTERDAY--IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DON'T WORRY--BE HAPPY
THEY REALLY GOT THEIR ACT TOGETHER--EVERYTHING WAS WORKING--CREW WAS VERY FRIENDLY--MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE SHOW ON THE LAST NIGHT --IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD STAY ON THE BOAT FOR A MONTH--ENJOY HAVE A GREAT CRUISE--AND RELAX--I WAS REALLY WORRIED AFTER ALL THE BAD THINGS I HEARD--I FELT I WAS BEING "DOWNGRADED"--THIS IS A GREAT SHIP--THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THE THE SLOT MACHINES GAVE BUT THE ROULETTE MAN TAKETH AWAY. I NEED TO PICK BETTER NUMBERS.......

Bless your heart. I have to admit I have never been brave enough to book a cruise (on purpose) the first cruise out of dry dock. I did it accidentally last year (October - Holiday) but Katrina took care of that!!

If you don't mind me asking, did they issue you any onboard credits for that embarkation fiasco?

Glad you still had a good vacation. Here's to many, many more!!

It's good to see some positive things being said about the Sensation. I'm looking forward to sailing on her since it will be the first time.

!
We were given a $50 shipboard credit and 25% off next 3-6 day cruise. I figured it like this...My per day cost for the cruise was $106. The credit and the discount I got on next sailing is more than that ($65 savings for cruise brings total to $115). I was adequately compensated. I am sailing the Sensation again in November with 8 friends, and can't wait to see what all they have done since then.

Thanks UConn! You have a wonderful perspective. I don't have to wish you "happy cruising", because with your positive attitude...it will automatically be a great one!
