Default Back to back cruises - questions

For those of you lucky enough to have done back to back cruises.... I have a few questions.

Did you have to get off the ship and "re-embark" to check back in?

Did you get the same cabin for both cruises - and did you have to book a specific cabin to get the same cabin both cruises?

Did you have to get new sign and sail cards for the second cruise?

I am wondering how much of a hassle it is because we are looking to book a 4 & 5 day cruises back to back, for many reasons, including itineraries, pricing etc.

any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

Thanks & Happy Sailing....

We did back to back cruises last year on the Mariner of the Seas. We did have to disembark the ship between cruises. We waited in a disignated lounge until everyone else had disemberked and that's when a Royal Caribbean Rep. came and got us. They led us through customs and was back on board in ten minutes. It was then that we recieved our new sail cards. Yes, we kept our same cabin.

Did you have to haul your bags off the ship to this lounge and then haul them back on or could you just leave them in your room. I am thinking about doing back to back cruises sometime in early 2007

Those doing back to back cruises on Carnival do not have to disembark. We just checked back in at the purser's desk. They left us a letter in the cabin on the last night of the first week stating when and where to be to check back in.

If you want the same cabin, you must book the specific cabin for both sailings - not gtys.

Yes, you will get a new S&S card.

No, we didn't have to take our bags with us. We just met at the specified lounge and were escorted off the ship then back on.

thanks for the information, sounds like it is pretty easy and hassle free. I can't wait to do back to back... We are planning to do a 4 day and 5 day in 2007.

Happy Sailing folks!!
