We will be on the Victory on 5/7. The better half would like to know if either of these items will be in our room. And if not, is it ok to bring an iron? thanks all
Congrads on your cruise. Irons are not allowed in staterooms on any ships. If your ship has a self service laundry, then it should have and iron and board to help with your wrinkles. Tell your wife that most of us use wrinkle release that can be found in most grocery stores. Also taking clothes still in the drycleaning bag helps. Some cabins have hair dryers, but some do not. These are allowed, and you my bring your own.
As Luanne said, NO irons are allowed on any ship! The Downy Wrinkle Release works great for me. I've also hung things that are not too wrinkled in the bathroom with the shower on hot to remove wrinkles.
You can also send clothes to the ship's laundry to be pressed for a minimal amount of $$ if there's not a self service laundry on your ship or your DW (or you ) just doesn't want to iron.
As far as the hairdryer, most ships have them but if your DW has very long or thick hair she'll want to bring her own. The ship's are not very powerful .
Have a wonderful cruise!

I just wanted to reinforce that irons are NOT allowed in cabins on criuse ships...not even the travel irons. Nor are heating pads and candles. All Carnival ships have passenger laundry rooms. Have a SAFE and happy cruise!

All fantastic voyages!
Irons are massive fire hazards - the irons on board are very rarely in use, so you shouldn't have to wait on them.
Just a pointer - if you do bring a hair dryer, don't forget to bring a power strip too! A powerstrip was the best thing we remembered to bring (to charge cell phones, alarm clocks, etc!)

Instead of taking a power strip which takes up luggage space, I take the little 'adapter'. It's about 3 inches long and plugs right into the socket in the cabin, and allows you to plug in three items at a time. 79 cents at WalMart.
