Default After final payment

After final payment has been made can you change from an inside cabin to an outside if you pay the dif.?

I called carnival and they said I could but need to go thru the TA I booked with... the TA said I could not. I wonder which is telling the truth.

If another cabin in a category is open, then yes, just ask the TA to upgrade you to that cabin and pay the difference.

Yes you can upgrade and pay the difference. However it depends if something is available. Your travel agent is not telling the truth. I guess they do not want to do the paperwork.

Yes you can, if the category is available. I've done it before. We booked an inside cabin and then received a financial windfall so decided to upgrade to an ocean view.

That's why I always book through the cruise line.

I believe your TA just doesn't want to bother with the change. What a shame. This can definitely be done. And no, Carnival won't 'interfere' with any booking through an outside agency - everything has to go thru your TA.

I book only w/a Carnival PVP. You might consider that next time?

Talk the supervisor of the TA and see if s/he can get it fixed. If that does not work, keep climbing the corporate ladder until you get some satisfaction.

Question" Have you received the cruise docs?

Let your T/A personally be informed that you know it can be done and you demand that all efforts be made to make it happen. If you use a licensed T/A you can put heat on through the licensing agency that he/she is registered with and let the agent know that you will follow up on your "promise" (er....threat! ). No agent is blessed with such a tremendous following that they can afford to risk losing future business when the "pipeline" gets wind of the failure to provide customer service after his commission has been spent!!!! This industry is extremely competitive and its customers depend upon the honesty, integrity & reliability of those who represent us and whom, I might add, pocket a substantial penny not only in commissions but also in the travel perks afforded to them through their affiliation. If you are not receiving the service you are entitled to make sure everyone knows who these people are by posting your experience on every possible cruise related website like this one; their inability and/or unwillingness to satisfy the demands of their customers should not be taken lightly. Scream loud and clear - so as to prevent others from experiencing the frustration you are having. I am sure Carnival would not be pleased to learn that they lost a few bucks on this sale because an affiliate agent sat on their thumbs instead of doing the right thing! Good Luck. Keep us posted. I can only hope that your request is being flipped off because there are no other cabins in your agent's "cache" of consigned staterooms and not for the reasons in your post.

Well, I emailed the TA ... (See below)---------

1st EMAIL:::::::::::::::
Steven:

Is it possible to change rooms??? We are booked in an inside cabin. Could we pay a little more and get a window or balcony?

Thanks,
Wendy

In a message dated 5/5/2006 10:11:43 AM Central Standard Time,

***Edit to remove commercial link***:
You have already made final payment with the cruise line. They have regulations that would not let you be able to change cabins or categories.

Sincerely,
Steven ext.116

I called them before I emailed you and was told that I could.

Are you wanting to switch categories for both bookings?

Now I have emailed to ask if that's the $ on top of what's been paid.

Wendy, good for you. You called him on the carpet by saying you had gotten a YES from Carnival. See - just a TA not wanting to go that extrfa mile for you. Seems that 'Steven' needs to seek another line of employment.

Again - next time, use a Carnival PVP.

i would report Stephen to his supervisors for not doing his job.
A good TA is worth his/her weight in gold, but a lazy one who doesn't want to do anything can ruin an agencies reputation
