Hi Jayne315,

Welcome to Cruisemates!

We've not been in this area, but it looks to me to be forward of the stage. The backstage area MAY be over it, but I'm not sure.

Are you booking this specific cabin? From reading these boards for a while, I understand that if you book a 1A "guarantee" you may be upgraded. You might want to check with your TA and see if that's an option. Of course, the upgrade may not be in a good spot either !

Sorry I couldn't be of more help . If you have more questions be sure to ask!

At least the theatre wouldn't be as bad as say the casino which is open very late.

Jayne, not sure if you'll get this since it has been a few years. How was cabin 2216?

2216 must be a lucky number. They have me in the same room on the Splendor next year.
Doesn't look too bad, 2 porthole windows, twin bed, and sofa.
By the time I go to bed the loud shows will be over. They do late night comedy, but hopefully that won't be too bad.

Just a note....the word is spelled theater(pet peeve of mine when people misspell that, mainly due to my own interest in the arts), but I suspect you will not be in bed when the shows are going on anyway. The last of the main shows are always over around 12AM-1AM from my understanding so you should be fine.

Default more on 2216/2217

After reading around, I've heard the show is not a problem for the cabins up front, however some of them hear the waves crashing. 2217 is better than 2216 because 2216 hears the anchor going up and down.

Unless you go to ports that require tendering, you won't be hearing the anchor at all. I've stayed in 2217 on Victory (Destiny, now Triumph class,) and it was virtually noise-free, aside from the occasional slap of water in moderate seas. When you get into port, though, you'll hear the bow thrusters, and since you port in the morning, think of them as giant alarm buzzers.

As far as the stage, we could hear the pitter-patter of feet on the stage, but it wasn't overwhelming like one under the lido, or sun decks.

I stayed in cabin 2105 on the Destiny. Every morning I heard the anchor. It did not particularly bother me but I heard it each and every morning.

The lower cabins are more prone to hear the engine/anchor movement than the activity above. I never heard anything above my head. All noise was below or in front of my cabin.

If quiet sleep is an issue, it may be better to select a cabin more middle of the ship that is cushioned above and below by other cabins.

There is a reason these cabins are in the less expensive locations.

If sleep is more important than money, change your cabin selection. If money is a bigger factor, hang in there. Hopefully, you will be so tired from a full day of fun and adventure that you will sleep like a baby no matter what.

Good luck.
