Day 1 Arrived in Civitavecchia The weater is great and I see the Liberty in Port. I arrived at the terminal at 12pm and there were only a few folks so boarding went in a few minutes. I went to my Cabin and made another happy dance. I say that John Heald is the CD YES YES ! I'm now in Naples Italy and I'm going to get on a tour shortly. I let you know what happens today

Default Live report from Liberty

Hope you are having a great cruise and I too hope John Heald will be the CD. There were rumors that he might retire. Anyone know anything about that? We sail Liberty Jan. 14 with about 20 people, a lot first time cruisers.

The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I aren't booked on the "Liberty" until April 14th of '07, but it'd sure be great if John was still the CD then. In any case, I'm glad you're having a great time, and keep us updated! Say hello to the "Med" for me. It's been way too long since last I visited her.

Reports from earlier this week have him taking June off. Those same reports say he'll be back at some point during July.

Default New update Monday May 22

Hi folks New update !!!!!!!!!

Today I’m in Dubrovnik, Croatia and it’s wonderful. It’s HOT 80 F and a Clearblue sky!
The city and the countryside is just beautiful, what a great port of call. There are lot’s of mountains, little islands . I have taken a taxi and went on my own tour. I went to all sort of places in the surrounding area of Dubrovnik and it’s again in one word beautiful!
I have to come back some time soon.

Yesterday evening it was Formal Night and 99% of the people were dressed up nicely!
On the Captains cocktail party I ‘d seen John Heald and I went to him and introduced myself to him and I was surprised that he still remembered me and we spoke for a while. I also met John’s wife Heidi who is Dutch,so John, Heidi and I had a conversation in Dutch witch was really special. John is indeed a great guy and still the best cruise director I have ever had.

Tomorrow we will go to Venice, another great port of Call ! I’m 3 day’s onboard now and everything is just excellent (the staff, food and entertainment). Me and my group have absolutely nothing to complain!

Tonight I’ll work on my photo gallery I have made already 250 photo’s hahaha.

I’ll keep everybody posted !

Regards,
Vincent

Vincent,

I'm glad you are having such a great time and everything is perfect. I will be on the Liberty in November and was wondering if the whole ship is wireless. In April, I was on the Legend and discovered that whole ship is now wireless which made it so easy, just emailing from my laptop in my room.
You and your group keep having a great time and looking forward to those pictures as well.

Hello,

Yes, The Liberty was the first ship with wireless excess. I would be bankrupt otherwise, hahaha. I'm having my laptop in my cabin and one or twice a day I'm a few minutes online, post my topics and than turn it off and have more FUN.

You also have FUN, The Liberty is GREAT

Default Med. Waters

Hi Carnival Vincent,

I will be cruising end of June on the Liberty. How are the seas in the Mediterranean as compared to the Carribean? The Caribbean can be quite rocky at times especially in the the Gulf areas. I'm hoping the Med. has calmer waters.

Hope all is going great for you. Thanks for the updates. I will be checking them daily.

Have Fun!!!!!

Hope all is well! Glad you are having a great time, our time is coming near for the Glory. Is all well there? My daughters friend just got off the cruise before you, the ship was sick. Norwalk. Hope it is all clear for ya'll. Enjoy the rest of your trip, she said other than being sick and stuck in their room, it was wonderful.

Hello everybody, and THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE!

I.have another update.
Venice is a great city, The cruiseship is going right trough the Canal.Witch is breathtaking. We were the highlight of the day, every person in Venice was watching the Liberty going trough the Canal and ST Marc’s square. Venice is very expensive but beautiful. I right all about it when I’m home. Then we went to Messina, Sicily and took the new tour with Carnival with is the Mount Etna tour to 2900M. Yes we went on top of the Etna into the crater with again was an amazing experience. Yesterday evening when we sail from Sicily the Captain had a surprise for us, he sailed very close to the Stromboly with is a very small island with a working volcano with you can see smoke out if the volcano very often and we were lucky that the volcano was active while we were there I have some nice photo’s of that when I return. We have a day at sea now and are we are going to Barcelona Tomorrow

John Heald is leaving the ship after this cruise. He is going on a vacation. But he will return as the BEST CD ever onboard the NEW Carnival Freedom.

The weather is ok, it about 70 F and the sea is not that rough. In port is much warmer. About 80F In my home country the weather is terrible so I’m very happy to be onboard this terrific funship!.

Acorvos: I’m sure the sea is very calm by the end of June and the temperature is in the high 80F. I have been to some of these country’s in the past and it’s very hot in the summer.

I can’t upload my pictures but they come when I return home next Friday. I have still 4 amazing day’s to go.

Vincent

Oh, I am so disappointed. One of the reasons I booked Liberty was with the anticipation that John would still be on in November. I've never met him but from all the reviews I've read... he's the BEST. Oh well, guess I'll have to look at the Freedom and book another cruise to go with my Liberty cruise!!! Any news who will be replacing John as CD?

Hee Vincent!! You have a super time 8) DO you think you can re-adjust to the Vinkeveense Plassen, being on the Liberty twice in say 8 months?
Or do you enlarge a picture of the Liberty window width en put it in your home?

Have fun the last few days, have a safe flight to Schiphol. I wait for your pics

http://www.cruisemates.com/gallery/view.php?id=2866

Angelkisses: John Heald is now on vacation and should be back in about 2 months, so I can be wrong but I think he is your CD in November. Brent Mitchell is the CD now.

Offcourse I have all the Capers and shore tours

Thanks again to you all folks, I didn't expect so many kind replys

I'm allready planning my next cruise, I'm thinking of the Carnival Legend from FT Lauderdale and than Back to Back next year.

Hi. Will be sailing on the Liberty in September. Would like your suggestions for shore excursions --- I read that you enjoyed the tour in Messina --- what ports do you suggest that you can do on your own without too much trouble????
