Default VIP Check-In Skippers Club?????

I'm going on my first cruise in August & there is alot of talk about this skippers club / VIP Check-in. I have a penthouse suite so I have the skippers club / VIP Check-in. Now I understand you have a lounge & they are suppose to put you on the boat faster but do they take care of your luggage right away or do you still have to wait for it like everyone else. I was told by the lady on the phone at carnival that they would grab my bags & take them right to my room but from what I'm reading on here I dont see that anywhere.

Any replys are appreciated..... Thank-You

I got that on my last cruise. Its wonderful. No you don't stand in line with everyone else. There's usually a VIP lounge. When you get to the dock, ask for the VIP lounge and they will point you in the right direction. Typically theres no line and its a nice waiting area for you to sit in before boading. Worth every penny.

Your carry on luggage goes with you but I didn't see that my bags were handled any different from the rest of the passengers.

Hey I landed a penthouse suite on the fascination and saw this VIP check-in on my doc's. Are there any other perks for booking this room other than since doing so, the staff who cater's to you thinking your wealthy. Will service be a little better than expected? always willing to compensate people for good service. What is the VIP lounge? What is different other than speedier check in? 8)

I don't know if there's any difference between the suites and the penthouse suite except for the extra space. You still have the same service as everyone else which is usually excellent. We didn't have our own personal service that I know of.

You also are among the first to disembark the ship.

Thats what I thought. I had gathered that from many postings i've read. thanks. Another question Dina.. Do they have like a bon voyage party when you board? I mean are they waiting there with drinks for everyone prior to sailing like a meet and greet party? also was wondering if people who are regulars on CM meet on board? I have posted on the MOB section but have no responses. I thought it would be fun to have a cruisemates sign and people who see it who are regular users can gather.

Hello to all I have used the Skippers Club in several ports and it is fun. I love getting to the port and seeing this long line and than you get to go right around everyone to the lounge. They reserve this check in for Cat 11 and 12 rooms but now Carnival offers VIP check in for guests with 10 or more cruises which is great for me. There is a lot of fun new things they are doing for there Vip's take a look and safe cruising JD

Carnival Cruise Lines has introduced a new loyalty program providing past guests with a variety of value-added benefits and features, including priority embarkation and debarkation, guaranteed supper club reservations and dining times, personalized stationery and custom-designed Carnival logo items.

Available exclusively to “Platinum cardholders who have sailed aboard the “Fun Ships 10 or more times, the new “Carnival Concierge Club benefits are designed to recognize and reward those longtime Carnival guests for their loyalty over the years.

“Carnival is committed to the highest standards of guest service and hospitality. The new ‘Carnival Concierge Club’ is just one more way of showing our appreciation to our loyal past guests by making their ‘Fun Ship’ cruise even more special and memorable, said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO.

Platinum cardholders are entitled to the following shipboard benefits and features:

* Petit fours and/or canapés delivered to cabin one evening

* Personalized stationery

* A special Carnival logo item

* Guaranteed dining times and supper club reservations

* Complimentary $20 entry fee into blackjack tournament

* Spa Carnival priority reservations and complimentary treatment upgrade

* Complimentary wash and fold laundry service

* Priority tender boarding

* Priority embarkation and debarkation

Additionally, a fully staffed concierge desk for Platinum cardholders has been established at the purser’s information desk aboard every Carnival ship. A dedicated phone line is available fleetwide, as well.

Special luggage tags indicating guests are “Carnival Concierge Club members are included in guests’ cruise documents. “Carnival Concierge Club members also receive a special Welcome Aboard letter from Carnival President and CEO Bob Dickinson detailing the exclusive amenities and privileges available during their cruise.

There is always someone running around with a tray of drinks. Unless its the captain's party or a special previous cruisers party then your buying your own drinks. Keep trying on the MOB to see if you can meet up with anyone.

I have got alot of info out of this post but I still dint get any info on the luggage situation. If you are VIP do they take your luggage directly to your room or do you have to wait for it like everyone else? I would like to klnow so I can pack other things into my carryon bag, if I have to wait for my luggage once I'm on the ship.

Thanks-You

You wait for it just like everyone else since it still has to go through the x-ray machine for security purposes. It would be best to carry your personal stuff and things you want for the first evening with you. I was on Destiny and I checked my bags and when I boarded the ship later, they were in my room. But I was on the ship much later so they had plenty of time to get there. Remember, the first night is very casual since its known that people may or may not get their baggage in time for dinner.

Even if you are a VIP on Carnival, you still have to check your luggage with the attendants outside on the dock in Miami. When you walk into the terminal, go to the special VIP section for check-in. After check-in, you walk thru a scanner for VIP guests, go to the second floor to get your Sail & Sign card and board the ship. It took our family of four maybe 15 minutes from VIP check-in to the Lido deck buffet. All our luggage was delivered to our room by 2:30 p.m. (we arrived at 11:30 a.m.). On debarkation day, you will receive special VIP tags for your luggage and we went to the Betsy Ross Room on the Lobby Deck at 8:30 a.m. where a Carnival crew member escorted us off the ship. Our luggage was in a special area of the terminal and very easy to find.

What if you're taking "newbies" on Carnival with you and they are not platinum card holders? Do I have to stand in line with everyone else or can they come with me thru the VIP check-in?

If it helps, my husband & I are platinum card members but each one of us will be in a room (at least on paper) with the newbies (16 year olds on a Sweet 16 cruise).

I am sooooooo looking forward to the free laundry service

Hello to all as for the NEWBEES Here is how it works. If they are on the same booking number and in the cabin with you they will be able to do the vip checkin with you. If they are not under the same booking number and ticket they will not. I know this because I am going on the Valor in a few weeks with my cousin who has never cruised before and he is on my ticket with me and it says vip check in. good luck JD

Not sure about the laundry thing I hope they use fabric softner
