Norwegian is cruising from there mid-October, Royal Caribbean is right behind them in late October, and Princess is doing a couple in December. Carnival says they want to make sure the port can support those ships before they commit to a longer cruise sailing from there.
The aquarium just opened up about 2 weeks ago - so that should bring something -- but the riverwalk had roughly 1/3 of the stores open. They can't find people to work I imagine. I have no incentive to go to N.O. (from that area initially) except the convenience of the port.
We loved New Orleans on the Copnquest.... Loved the trip down the river to the Gulf.... We live next to Biloxi so only 60 miles to drive.... Going on the Celebration on a 5 day on Sept. 9th to see if we can adjust to a smaller ship... Got a $219 fare on a military discount, not bad for a 5 day cruise...
