Default What are the MUST-HAVES to pack?

What are the absolute necessities that you pack for your cruise?

I have the following on my list so far:

duct tape
magnets
bungie cord for balcony doors
door decorations
banner for balcony railing
battery operated small fan for white noise when sleeping
Power strip for electrical appliances
Ziplock bags of all sizes
Large plastic cup for iced tea/water
Snorkel/fins

What am I missing?

You better put clothes down. It gets cold in the dinning rooms some nights.

I bring a spare curling iron for my hair...mine broke on a cruise a few years ago and I asked the Room Steward if he could lay his hands on one for me and he did but it wasn't in the best condition.

I wouldn't bother taking that coffee pot myself. We just put the room service sign on our door to bring us a pot of coffee at whatever time we were getting up the next morning. They never failed to bring it and it was great!

You may all think I am crazy, but I'm packing ear plugs on my next cruise. I love the shows, but they are sooooo loud, that it can get annoying. The band that plays by the pool is also very loud.

They also come in handy if your husband or wife snores.

Also, don't forget your sunsceen and aloe vera gel.

Hanging the banner from the balcony -- decorating the cabin door -- a myriad of other uses

* travel size alarm clock, since there were no clocks in the room at all
* a watch, since we were unable to get service on our cell phones and had no way to tell when it was time to go back to the ship
* small, personal, hand-held fans because hiking through the caribbean rainforest got a TAD warm.....

we never used the tape, bungee cord, extension cord, etc. probably could have made use of one of those over the door hanger thingies but didn't bring one. there's ALWAYS next time!

Gail F: You said don't forget the air freshner, what kind? Can you bring a can on the airplane? I would be afraid it would explode under the pressure. I like the Oust or Lysol to kill all the germs, but like I said I am afraid it would explode with the air pressure.

no to the aersol air fresheners on the airplane, you can buy a small can in port before you board the ship, otherwise use the plug-in ones.
Necessities: Sunblock, Aloe Vera Burn Gel, prescription & OTC meds that you take on a regular basis, small sewing kit. Sunglasses - polarized ones that block UVA/UVB rays, water sandals, feminine needs, underwater disposable camera, travel alarm clock, small nite light, pen, hairdryer if you have coarse, thick, or long hair. Shampoo & Conditioner if you have one that you really like, the stuff in the cabin is basis Suave, VO5 type shampoo, razors, Pepcid, Rolaids or Tums, Neosporin, Purell, Tide Pen, Tylenol or Advil, Bonnine, Imodium.

thanks so much for the helpful information. I didn't think that I can take an aersol can on the plane. I will take the Lysol wipes with me. I like to wipe things down also.
