I am Marcia and am cruising on Destiny November 12th for my 35th birthday. I live in Texas and manage a non-profit agency. I will be cruising with my mother - my 6th cruise and her 4th. I started a roll call if anyone else is cruising with us.
My name is Kerry and I'm from Lafayette Louisiana; my husband and my teenage son are my cabinmates
First cruise was last April with a group of 17 other family and friends. I've been wanting to cruise for at least half my life...college graduation gift from my mom was to pay for a cruise for two - never happened. Not her fault tho, I couldn't go right away due to new job, then one thing lead to another and the years passed. But now I have been initiated.
And within a week after returning home the PCD set in and I had to start the search for our next cruise. Hopefully as I get older, I will get richer (with the help of my husband too ) and will book them more frequently. You will probably be seeing a lot of me on here!!
Life's a Beach ... enjoy it on a Cruise!
Hi - we are from Vancouver (and have been on 10 cruises but never Alaska!) Our family has been on RCCL, HAL, Celebrity and Princess, but never Carnival. We just booked a cruise for two weeks from now on the Legend out of New York (July 23rd) and if we enjoy that, are considering booking a Med cruise on the Freedom next.
On this cruise there will just be the three of us - my husband and I and our 16 year old son. Our 22 year old daughter can't come with us (first cruise she has missed!) Anyone else on the Legend on this date?
Yo, waddup? My name is not Doug as you might gather from my ID. Me llamo Garrett. I am from MN. It's really nice here now, even though it's gonna be in the 100's this weekend with dewpoints of 70+. Not all know, but 70+ dewpoints suck! I have to play softball tonight... it's gonna be pretty HOT! I might lose 5 pounds in an hour. I love this weather though, it sure beats our winters. From about October through May every year I almost talk myself into moving to Vegas. One day, I will! I love it when it's 110+ in Vegas. It's way better than 90+ in MN. I have been on two cruises, both Carnival. The Holiday out of Mobile was my first in December 04, and the Liberty in January 06. The one out of Mobile was fun. They played Sweet Home Alabama maybe a million times. We had fun at the bar the night before in Mobile. They sure know how to have fun, especially when that song plays. The bars there are open from like 8 until close. There is no "closing time" until everybody pretty much leaves on their own. That's kinda cool. They close at 2am here in Minnesota. I am booked on the Liberty again in January 07. My friends are getting married on the trip. I can't wait! My first cruise was a 5 day, next was a 6 day, this is an 8 day, and all the ports are new to me, which is cool. We usually don't do much when we get off the boat... sitting on a beach is good enough for me. I think this cruise we will do some more since some of our stope are 8+ hours. One thing I absolutely will do this time is parasailing. At home, I like to wish I was cruising, play softball, bowl, and be unproductive at work by posting here and on cruisecritic! I'm sure I'm not the only one; am I right? This is my first day on cruisemates. I saw it in the Travel Channel last night on a show about a cruise to Alaska. I want to do that someday, but not until I'm older, or retired. I just like the warm sunshine way too much! This is my third post. My first one and the reason I signed up was to yell at mehawk for being a jerk, then I made fun of a guy for being the spelling/punctuation police. It's all in good fun though. At least most of it. I like all sports, and my favorite teams are pretty much all the local teams. I also like the Cowboys and the Heat, but not the Packers. They are dumb. So, I think I should work again. I wonder if this is the longest post ever? I know it will be mine, by about 500 words. Nice meeting y'all... talk to you soon!
Hi - My husband and I are in our mid-30s and live in Seattle. No kids (at least yet), but a couple of cats. We have been on 1 RCCL, 1 Windstar, and 3 Carnival cruises in the past 7 years. We're planning on a back-to-back cruise in Dec '06 on either the Glory or the Valor... we're going to have to flip a coin soon to make a decision I think.
We just love getting away from the Seattle 'winter' and taking in the sun and islands. I'd also like to cruise around Europe one of these days as well. If anyone has been on an Alaska or Hawaii cruise, I'd love to hear more about them...
mike(me) and wife karen will be going on our 20th cruise in nov.11 on
the carnival glory. this will be our 2nd time on the glory and will be
cruising with twelve other people we have met on previous cruises.
this will be our 18th on carnival with two on rccl. to us there is no
comparison between the two lines as its carnival forever.
Hi. Susan and Rick from Bakersfield, CA. We have cruised three times to Mexico (the first time with our daughters). We are very excited to be going to Alaska July 18, 2007. This message board is both fun and informative. Thank you.
Hi from Denise,
We are sailing on the Conquest December 31/06. We have 2 daughters age 17 and 14. Has anyone been on a cruise on New Years Eve? Is there a special celebration that night? Would like to hear from anyone else that is going to be on the Conquest on that date. We are also going to be flying to Galveston on December 29 and renting a car for 2 days. If anyone is from that area we would appreciate any suggestions of places to go to do some sightseeing.

Just booked our 9th cruise for our 40th anniversary. Sailing from Rome, Italy to Naples, Venice, Dubrovnik, Messina, Barcelona, Cannes & Livorno May 2007. We are planning to take 4 days in Rome prior to cruising to just look around on our own and maybe schedule a tour or two there.
Just got back from our August cruise where we took all the kids and grandkids - 11 in all and everyone loved it!!
