tips for getting dining table near window?

I told my TA that our preference is "as close to a window as possible". We were smack dab in the middle of the dining room on last cruise - which was okay because everything on a cruise is at least okay - but i'd like to see the sun going down or the water going by (etc)

I know its way to early to do anything but is it better to let TA try to get it, or speak to maitre'd right after we board? or???

run to the dining room as soon as you get onboard and ask if there is a table available. i was lucky enough to get one on my first cruise and it was fabulous. you could see the sunset, the waves from the ship and if you are lucky any aquatic action out there on the side you are on. good luck

I was just curious, what size was the table in the middle of the room that you were sitting at? The tables we've had next to the window seemed to be the larger ones....

table near middle was a round table for 10 guests; we had 17 people in our group and had 3 empty spots at one of the two round tables we were assigned to (well no one ever showed up for the 3 extra seats). I always found myself looking out the windows but couldn't see anything but sky from that distance. The tables near the windows on the Ecstasy were rectangle with approximately 8-10 chairs. There are many more window tables on the Conquest than the Ecstasy so I'm hoping

Well, yes, it seems like going to speak to the Matre 'de (sp?) as soon as you board would be a good idea....and don't forget a nice tip if he does get you a good table....
