Any more less is not permissible on board a Carnival Cruise. Unless your standing on your balcony. Apparently a LOT of people feel the need to "less less less" out there. HAHAHA

That was a really great review. The wife and I have sailed the Conquest 4 times, and when I read your review, relived the cruise all over again, FOR FREE. I like the part where you all didn't do anything one night. Our last cruise on the Conquest, this past April, we did nothing for 7 days. No shows, (didn't even go in the Toulouse Latrec the first time), no big excursions, and no revelry. We just rested and relaxed, but just knowing we could whoop it up just moments away, was a great feeling. We had a ball.

Luanne,

Thanks so much for sharing the details. I really enjoyed it. I was worried a little bit in the beginning because it did sound like you had a good time. But once you got to Cozumel, I felt better. However, it really gives me a good idea of what to expect while in the ports when I am there in two weeks....going on many of the same excursions you went on.

What I'd really love to hear more of was about your time on the ship. Is there anything you can share about your sea days? Any places on the boat that you really enjoyed or would stay away from? I am thinking that on our "free" night (sister-in-law will be watching the kids), my husband and I would enjoy the supper club. Did you try that and was it worth it?

In any event, I really enjoyed the post and am glad you are back!!!! 8)

Izards,

Do try the Point Supper Club on your next cruise It is well worth the extra cost. Specially if you have a special occasion or a "free night" Then it would be "priceless"

Happy Cruising to all ;

There was a lot more, but the natives seem to be restless. I thought giving lots of info would help those who have not cruised or had not gone to the ports I went to.

There is so much to do on the ship. There were very few times, when we couldn't find something. You will also find yourself taking a nap, even if you don't normally do so. If you like to party, the disco is open until 3:00. If you like to eat, there is food everywhere, and always something, 24/7 If you see something in the shops you want, you need to go ahead and get it, unless it is tee shirts. They always go on sale the last day. There are bars everywhere. The casino is a lot bigger than most.

Thank you so much Luanne for sharing your vacation with us. I was very touched by how much love and pride you have for your husband.

By the way, how did those Jerk Ribs turn out?

Default Great Review!

Thanks Luanne! That was wonderful! I am so glad that you had a good time! You are right about Tod. He is so full of energy, you just can't help but get excited when he is in the room. Did you go to The Point Supper Club? I didn't see a post where you mention it, but maybe I missed a section?

Who cruising next? Sadly, not me yet

Well spoken, dina!! And Rescuedad, I am sorry to say that I tried to get into your review, but it didn't sound like you had a very good time, it was almost like you were complaining about everything. It did not make me want to "live my life vicariously through you!"

Not to step on Luanne's thread you all know I never do that!

Yes I did have a good time. I gave the meat and potatoes of the cruise. The good and the bad. There must always be things you enjoyed and things you didn't. Things you expect and don't get and things you don't expect but get and are very happy about. I believe in being honest. Would you prefer me to say everything was just wonderfuuuuuull? Then you decide based on my review to take the same cruise and find out otherwise? or vice versa. I would have to take you hour by hour on the cruise and show you parts I wish I could go back to and miss and things I could do without. I have taken ski vacations to some dumps but had the greatest time because of weather, snow conditions, all day happy hours, good friends, meeting great people I also took a top of the line ski trip to breckenridge where I wound up with altitude sickness, icey conditions, broken ski boot and car that broke down on the drive to the resort. should I say it was greeaaaaatttttt because I went to a top of the line place!! I was being honest for what I was looking for in a cruise. Having said that, the things I did not enjoy were partly my fault. I should have taken a longer cruise, more sea days would have freed me up more from the kids. Also the weather it was cloudy and drizzly on our two excursion days. I have to leave now and pick up the kids from camp but I will pick this up when I get back a little later. I want to close saying I am already in the process of planning an October. February and next summer cruise.! That's how much I didn't enjoy my cruise! I also need to tell you what happened to me in cozumel that had me distracted the time that we spent there.

Luanne,

I loved reading your review but need to know the following:

1) Where are the pictures? Post some on the Photo Gallery for us!

2) How was your jerk ribs? If it was good, you need to share your recipe.

3) Where is your husband now? Has he left yet? Let him know that he's got a whole message board full of people praying for him!

Luanne - I can really empathise with the "polka dot" sunburn - but mine was more stripes. It must be those danged stingrays lol. I can't believe how much it hurt to put my bra on. Naturally, everyone you meet just has to pat you on the back :o( even out waiters lol. We cruised in early March and I'm still showing the "colour red" tee-hee.

Now, on to the next report - get a move on lol.

Hey guys,

There is a lot going on right now, so I have had to take a break from the boards. Maybe all of you who have been on the Conquest, can add to my review.

The jerk was great, but once again, I didn't read the directions and used the whole bottle. It was spicyyyyyy I did bring home two new recipes. Will share soon.

I couldn't wear a bra for about two days, so there you are.

The pictures are the old fashion type, so still need to take them to photo place. Will do it soon.

See you soon.

Luanne

HA! I figure you were addicted to cruising. Basically if you don't sweat the small stuff, every vacation is great. OK.. not every vacation depending on how things work out but everything went very well on yours. You now know what to expect and are tayloring your next cruises to what you know what you like and don't like.

Picking up where I left off. Arrived in Cozumel, tendering was a breeze and the kids liked riding the small boat. upon entering Coz you have to walk through the area with all the stores to get to the taxi and rental car area. I quickly scoped out where I was gonna grab my tequila and kahlua. we were traveling with the neighbors that sailed with us and all decided on a big van. Te guy my neighbor was dealing wanted $150 to take us for the day. My neighbor offered $100, which he declined (I didn't blame him) she then told him $120 but he must take us somewhere where he knows someone and get free snorkel gear. He agreed. Now here's the part that worried me. My oldest forgot his bathing suit on the boat so I remember seeing a RonJon's and another surfing store Del Sol. so I told them to wait a minute and I 'll grab him a suit, it's gotta be pretty cheap here right? So I go in to the shop run by 3 surfer type guys like they were from california no mexicans. I grabbed a nice suit for him and the guy says we get another free. I didn't see any signs for this and it kind of put my antenna up but, I grabbed a suit for myself. Why would they give something away that they didn't have to i'm thinking. the suit I bought was priced about $15 below US so a good deal for quality clothes. Give the guy my credit card and he hands me the receipt to sign it says

US $26.95

$365.25
I asked whats this $360 charge and he says no thats pesos, I say it doesn't say pesos so hopw do I know these guys arent just telling me a story and I'll wind up paying $360 for a bathing suit. He semi convinced me that he was telling the truth and I had to get back to the group. SO, this was on my mind the whole excursion that I was gonna find a surpise on my bank statement when I got back. Now, because this driver(very nice guy) knew only one beach where he could get the free snorkel stuff we got stuck here. We were virtually the only group at this beach. It was a sandy beach which meant very little fish to see, they had to swim about 80 yds offshore to see anything. I wanted to go to corona which is rocky and supposedly the best shore snorkeling on the island but for some unknown reason we were saving our little pennies. So being the only adult who felt this was I was outnumbered. One of the main reasons for going to Coz was I wanted my kids to get some great snorkeling and not have to take a boat. So they snorkeled, saw a few fish( clouds and drizzle didn't help this)and I sat on the beach and drank. Ohh and can you believe it, Mexico was out of corona beer. I had to laugh! I figured since the coronas are advertized at $1 each the guy wanted to sell a more expensive beer for tips. no big deal. I am a good tipper any way. So bottom line our group was looking to spend the least amount of money for some reason. I mean these are poor people let's stop squabbling over a few bucks and do what we want to do and pay them. Again the whole time it's in the back of my mind that I may have paid $360 for a bathing suit.
We go back to the shopping area to buy some stuff. My wife purchases something and I ask for her receipt. It showed nothing but the dollar amt she was paying and I started steaming. I asked the girl at the register about my bill which I showed her and she starts out by saying Uh oh! You could have cooked a hamburger on my head I was so pissed. My thoughts were how bad are the mexican jails cause i'm gonna go choke that guy. Then she took out her calculator and the amt I paind transferred into the same amt in pesos. she said you only pay the amt that has th "US" in front of it , so I calmed down. Went and bought a few more things and got back on the tender. Now, even though it was raining and drizzling in KW I had a good time and didn't even drink.

HA! I figure you were addicted to cruising. Basically if you don't sweat the small stuff, every vacation is great. OK.. not every vacation depending on how things work out but everything went very well on yours. You now know what to expect and are tayloring your next cruises to what you know what you like and don't like.

My thoughts exactly. Now that I know what my wants and needs are I will have a much more enjoyable cruise the next time!

I can also name a dozen things that i have read of things people complained about I found most of them to be untrue.
